I love Evanesence. My favorite song of teirs has to be Bring me to life. Nothing bad really in this cd. A good cd to start tweens into todays rock music. Bye now!

It's a little dark and depressing, but is excellent with Amy Lee's pure vocals. I recommend Bring Me To Life. My Immortal is very depressing and is probably the darkest song on this album.

I started listening to Evanescence when I was around 10, I think (I heard it when I was even younger since my older sister would listen to it, but not really that much) and while it's dark and gothic, the music is very good and catchy.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this album. It might seem a bit scary, listening to the lyrics, for the little bits, but the music is trully (can't spell) beautiful and I can relate to a lot of it. Amy Lee's an amazing singer, and she should be given full credit.

Despite its creepy nature, this CD is actually quite good. The lead singer, Amy Lee's voice is beautiful, and is very touching. Warning, though. It can get a little edgy at times. "Tourniquet" is, in essence, about suicide, though it, as you can see above, is actually slightly religious. (Note: It is very creepy though) THis is a great cd, but only if you get certain tracks. For some it can just be too rough

Fallen features beautiful music, and a lot of it is actually positive in spite of the dark sound. The main concern for letting younger kids listen to it is the generally spooky sound of most of the music and two songs - "Tourniquet" is about finding salvation on the verge of suicide and "Haunted" is about being stalked and, possibly, sexually assaulted. As a sexual assault survivor and a Christian who was very depressed at one point in her life, I can say that "Tourniquet" and "Haunted" were both important songs to hear because they gave me someone to relate to (and "Tourniquet", after all is said and done, is about holding on through the darkness), but tweens and little ones probably shouldn't be listening to them just yet.

Fallen, Evanescence's epic debut, allowed the band to become one of the world's foremost Goth band. The music is heady, melodic metal directed by Any Lee's impassioned and flexible vocals. If your kid is seeking this music out, then they can probably handle it. The lyrics are introspective and deal with sorrow, grief, and alienation, mostly in the form of poetry. There are no cure words or seriously violent lyrics, and the effect is cathartic and cleansing. A very healthy and beautiful kind of emotional release, and should be fine for anyone above 12, although it can be an eye-opener for some 11-year-olds.

Evanescence is a great band and this is definitely their best album. It has a lot of dark imagery and most of the songs are about death or suicide. Younger kids also may not understand the meanings of the songs. I think this is okay for 10 and above.
