What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this CD is another largely clean collection of music from the TV show. Though some songs contain mildly suggestive lyrics -- for instance, Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" -- they're mostly free of adult content and explicit language.

Positive messages: Following the leads of Volumes 1 and 2, Volume 3 includes overall positive messages about life, love, and dreaming big.
Positive role models: Both the characters and cast have continued to exhibit overall positive behaviors during the show's second season.
Violence: Not applicable.
Sex: Olivia Newton-John's classic song, "Physical," includes some light sexual references. For example, "I been patient, I been good, trying to keep my hands on the table / It's getting hard just holding back, you know what I mean."
Language: One song, "Gives You Hell," repeats the h-word throughout.
Consumerism: Promotes the TV show.

Back for its second season, Glee continues to thrill audiences young and old with both its storylines and musical performances. GLEE: THE MUSIC, VOLUME 3 SHOWSTOPPERS is the first compilation of songs from the second season, featuring fourteen tracks from a range of heavy-hitting contemporary and older artists, including Lady GaGa, the Beatles, All American Rejects, Aerosmith, Christina Aguilera, U2, and even Olivia Newton-John. Though they represent a range of styles, each song shares a commonly clean theme, with little in the way of references to sex, substances, or other mature content.

The Glee cast ups its creative game with this album, turning in inspired performances that go beyond just solid vocals. On the Beatles' "Hello, Goodbye," for example, the cast effects some excellent harmonizing. They also go all the way from tackling '80s classics like Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" to the show tune "Lady is a Tramp" from the 1937 Rodgers and Hart musical Babes In Arms.

Just karaoke
They're good singers at least. But it bothers me that a lot of people probably don't know or have never even heard the original songs. On the same level as Kids' Bop, if you ask me.

Besides Gives You Hell(which os one of my faves), it's an ok cd for kids. Liked the latest and the Rocky Horror one better. I'm a Gleek!!
