Go! Exercise with the Teletubbies (by Teletubbies, Children's Music)

common sense media says

Not much more fun than touching your toes.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this CD has no offensive content, but there's also not much content in general. Children's music doesn't get any less sophisticated than the Teletubbies, whose new album encourages kids to do simple exercises along with, apparently, a heck of a lot of giggling.

Positive messages: Gently positive message about moving your body and washing up.

What to talk about

Talk to your kids
Families can talk about the importance of moving your body and staying fit. "Wash Wash Wash" gives step-by-step instructions for cleaning yourself up and weird-squeaky sound effects along with the narrator's exclamations of (G-rated) body parts. Can you wash your knees?

What's the story?

What's the story?
Oh those silly Teletubbies! This time, accompanied by vigorous dancing-school piano (and is that an oboe/squeegee duet?), the sweet, giggling creatures prance around doing simple exercises led by a friendly narrator. Lyrics are so simple as to sound nonsensical to those unfamiliar with the Teletubbies' M.O., consisting of phrases like "touch toes" and a list of G-rated body parts on "Wash Wash Wash." There's no objectionable content, but there's barely any content at all.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

These ditties and their simple instructions might come across better on a DVD, with the visuals intact. But on the CD, we're left with something that sounds silly-with-an-absurdist-twist at best; tedious at worst. You have to really love the Teletubbies to get through GO! EXERCISE WITH THE TELETUBBIES more than once, though it's not hard to imagine older siblings mixing these gentle tracks with some hip-hop beats to create truly extraordinary movement music for their little brothers and sisters.

Too Much Nudity!
Throughout the whole thing, I don't think any of them wore clothes! A lot of full frontal. Also, it was definitely hinted at that tubby toast of an addictive substance of some kind. NOT FOR KIDS!!!
