While the overall message of the album might be a negative one, and a pessismist view on love, all of her songs can be applied to life and are honest. This CD, in my opinion, is a lot more grown-up and overall better than her last one, titled Don't Forget. I think among her songs, the most impressive are "World of Chances" and "Remember December". These songs demonstrate an older Lovato, and one that writes more impressive lyrics. On the album, there are songs of all genres, whether its a soulful one in the song "Everytime You Lie" or a sweet ballad in "Catch Me". She seems to have departed from the cheesy, tween music of the Jonas Brothers- on her last album every song was co-written by them- and moved on to mature songs that are greatly written. The songs are all honest, and they don't lead you to believe that life is a fairytale. I think that "Here We Go Again" has emerged from among the Disney crowd, and puts Lovato right up there with every other serious artist, perhaps better than some. With her phenomenal voice, I rank Here We Go Again number one, and can't wait for what she has coming next.
