What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this song is popular on Radio Disney and was featured in the Disney movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. There's nothing inappropriate for tweens. Although Switchfoot is a Christian band, this song doesn't have any religious references.

  • "I'm finally where I belong/where I belong" and "I got a brand new mindset/I can finally see the sunset/I'm gonna call it home."

What's the story?

"THIS IS HOME" is one of the few non-instrumental songs featured on the soundtrack from The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (it played during the end credits). This is a rock ballad.

Is it any good?

This single starts with a simple piano and slowly adds in the rest of the instruments' sounds to produce a feel-good rock ballad that builds momentum through the chorus. The song itself is just OK -- a bit generic and probably needs the visual impact of the movie to elevate it.

What families can talk about

Families can talk about the Disney empire. How effective is their marketing? Why do you think they're such a tight-knit company? Why would a non-Disney artist want to be a part of a Disney project?
