What’s the Story?

Reviewed by Stephanie Bruzzese

The list of collaborators on INTUITION, the third album from Jamie Foxx, reads like a who's who of hot rappers and R&B artists: T.I., Kanye West, The Dream, Tricky, T-Pain, and more. Combined with Foxx's strong if not spectacular vocals, the skills of these producers and performers result in a mix of tracks ranging from bass-laden dance hooks to ultra-sensitive slow songs. Despite their different tempos, the tunes are lyrically similar, with most describing sex in some way, shape, or form.

Is It Any Good?

Jamie Foxx the actor-singer is like Michael Jordan the basketball-baseball player: talented at both but outstanding at only one. This CD won't win Foxx an Album of the Year Grammy to sit alongside his Best Actor Oscar, but his smooth vocals, contagious bumps, and solid turns from guest artists make for several attention-grabbing tunes -- especially on the first half. The second half (which features fewer collaborators) is less refreshing than the first, though the two still share a common thread: sex. This theme pervades even the clean version of the CD, so it's not for younger children, period.
