What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this song is about capturing the moment of that first kiss on a first date -- even if you're being shipped off to the military the next day. The two actors in the video, Megan Hart and Tyler Hilton, are also dating in real life. Obviously, there's some serious kissing, but it's sweet and appropriate for most older kids.

  • Song is about seizing the moment and not letting it pass you by.
  • In the video, the young man is headed off to the military, but decides to make the most of the moment and kiss a girl on their first date.
  • Not applicable.
  • The song is about a first kiss at the end of a first date, so there's some kissing talk. It's sweet, but does say, "I should've kissed you. I should've pushed you up against the wall."

What's the story?

Quartet-turned-trio Gloriana sing about the awkward, amazing last moments of a first date in the single "KISSED YOU (GOOD NIGHT)." The video features real life couple Megan Hart (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) and singer/songwriter Tyler Hilton (One Tree Hill) making the most of a first kiss.

Is it any good?

Gloriana's new, simplified sound and harmonies as a band of three suit them well on this single. Tom Gossin sings the lead vocals and Rachel Reinert sings the "voice" of the female character. It's a sweet but passionate song about the all-too-familiar moments that happen at the end of a first date, and how we choose to make those moments last or fall flat.

What families can talk about

  • Families can talk about what it means to "seize the day." Is this always a positive thing? When could it be a negative thing? How can you live life to the fullest?

  • This video features some well-known faces, not to mention a real couple. Do you think this makes a difference in how audiences respond? Does it make you more interested in a song, movie, or video when celebrities are involved?

  • Can you think of other examples where actors or singers involved in a project are together in real life? Does it make you more interested in what they are selling?
