Parents need to know that the musicians and singers on this CD bring you an infectious collection of family-friendly party songs, all in French, with delightful accompaniment that makes heavy use of the banjo, harmonica, and guitar. The songs aren't all that educational -- although one does involve counting -- and they do overflow with a quirky sense of fun. The CD includes a file for printing out the French lyrics and translations.
Positive messages:"Sautons sur le Carreau" teaches kids to count, but most of the songs aren't educational at all -- they're just fun, quirky stories.
Sex:The English translations have some innuendo, but it's playful, innocent, and funny: "Tail to tail and nose to nose/Oh, they love to hold each other close," "He lost his lover/He got put out to pasture/By someone who is not as smart but better looking!," and "He thinks she has/nice wool curls/She loves his cute little hoofs/And without further ado they get married/in the farmyard, it's madness/And soon arrive/precious little lambs."
