What parents need to know

Parents need to know that there's very little objectionable material on this song. Although Archuleta sings about losing a girlfriend's love, the lyrics don't go too deep and just cover general blue feelings. The accompanying video for the single is also kid-friendly, with Archuleta singing for the camera interspersed with still shots of the singer and a fictitious former flame having fun.

What's the story?

A LITTLE TOO NOT OVER YOU is David Archuleta's second single to be released off of his debut self-titled album. Archuleta introduced the new single with a performance on Nickelodeon's Crush Night along side premieres of iCarly and True Jackson. On the single, Archuleta sings about trying to get over loving a girl and how his feelings won't go away: "Tell me why you're so hard to forget / Don't remind me, I'm not over it."

Is it any good?

Don't try to mess with the sincerity that is David Archuleta. Although from afar he might look like another teen-pop heartthrob, this kid has the musical chops to back up his boyish grin. This single suffers from a clumsy title, but Archuleta's smooth harmonies are anything but. With reserved emotion and a cool chorus, this single is the perfect cure for a crush gone bad.

What families can talk about

Families can talk about how music is promoted today. Archuleta debuted this song during cable channel Nickelodeon's Crush Night special, along with premieres of some of the channel's most popular television shows. Do you think Archuleta's record label set this performance up to target his core fans? Does debuting a song on a television special add a certain level of hype to the single?
