Parents need to know that Love? is a largely tame album, featuring some semi-sultry dance-floor descriptions, though nothing too risque. Despite a bleeped-out swear word, product name, and mention of drinking here and there, the record is clean overall -- making it an acceptable choice for younger audiences.
LOVE? is the sixth full-length album from singing and acting superstar Jennifer Lopez. The record includes 12 songs that revolve around two main themes: dancing and romance. All of the songs lack profanity -- even the track featuring notoriously graphic rapper Lil Wayne (which has just one bleeped-out "s--t"). With no references to violence, and only the occasional mention of some sexy dance moves and alcohol, this CD is an OK pick for younger JLo fans.
JLo has never been known for exceptionally strong pipes, and her performance on this record is no exception. To that end, while she relies on plenty of Auto-Tune in songs like "Good Hit," the cool beats in some of these tracks help them stand on their own. No doubt many of them will be in regular rotation in the clubs.
Families can talk about JLo's role as a judge on American Idol and how that could help or hurt the popularity of this album.
To promote the new record, JLo performed one of the singles on Idol. Should she be allowed to hawk her projects on the TV show? Why or why not?
Knowing that many Idol viewers are younger, did JLo keep the sexiness to an appropriate level, or did she go overboard?
