Eminem Isnt a very happy person. Most of his songs include alot of swearing. they're kind of depressing. But those of us kids who are are going through hard times like to listen to him. it makes us feel a little better.
Play Clean Around Younger Kids, And Do Not Show Them The Music Video!
Here are my reasons for rating it this:
-For littler kids there are some cuss words (play it clean if around younger kids).
-In the music video the girl and the guy fight a lot.
-It the music video it shows the guy buy a pack of beer and it also shows one of the guys/girls sitting outside a store drinking a beer.
I like Eminem, so I listened to this song.
An original, addictive, “fresh breath of air” song - about domestic violence.
I think that this review should have pointed out the fact that this song is talking about his tumultuous relationship with his ex, Kim. This is the first time he has opened up about the situation he was in. And whether or not it is telling us exactly what happened (probably not), the song is unarguably entirely about domestic violence. It is a first-person account from the abuser in the relationship, telling of a love-hate relationship - snapping at the sight of another guy, yelling and being blinded by rage, regret and remorse for his actions, begging her not to leave but with no intentions of changing his mindset: “I know I’m a liar, if she ever tries to f***ing leave again / I’mma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire”. Please take note that the song is pointing out the fact that DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS BAD, and whether or not you take the song in a positive or negative light is depends on how you feel about how the way the message is delivered. I personally believe that it is an emotional and regretful account, so I view it positively. But is delivered with dark recollections of violence. - Aside from the controversial message, Em drops the f-bomb three times, once in each verse (which is extremely tame for him) and makes a metaphor using “high”, “drunk” and “huffing paint”. ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
When Eminem's "Recovery" leaked to the masses, "Love the Way You Lie" became an instant sleeper hit purely from word-of-mouth. The promotion the song received is the reason why it has shot up to #1 on iTunes. And it certainly deserves its spot. “Love the Way You Lie” has a beat I haven’t ever heard from the top 40 - an acoustic guitar, a bass, backbeat handclaps and a thumping bass drum is all that backs Em up as he spits remorseful confliction in each verse. Then Rihanna (ironically) delivers a solemn/brilliant hook over a swell of electric guitars, synthesizers, and that piano that seems to be all over mainstream right now. This simple beat, Rihanna’s hook and Eminem’s aggressive and emotional rapping comes together to somehow create the most addictive/original song I’ve heard for a long time.
Great for teens, but never for little kids 12 and under
I love this song! it's my jam, eminem's a cutie (but he's like 40 rite? lol) but it's not for kids. Bad messages, beating women. lots of violence. not for kids. good for teens though!
the song could probabley give you major headaches with all the screaming. Eminem hits somebody in the song. I'm pretty sure the f word is said a few times.
I love this song! But I listen to the version by Ariana Grande, she only sings Rihanna's parts, and it's perfectly clean. Good song though, but Ariana makes it better, I only listen to her version. This original version has "f*ck" 3 times. Yikes. Not surprising, for Eminem, though. Listen to Ariana's version, you'll love it.
Eminem hit is listenable for those mature enough to handle abusive relationships.
I do not necessarily agree with a rating of pause for 16 year olds. It is understandable where Common Sense is coming from though. As you may know, the song is about an abusive relationship and the negatives of being in one. Eminem uses this unhealthy aspect to encourage young adults to stay away from these types of relationships. His lyrics do get to be a little bit over the top though, such as: "If she ever tries to f------ leave again, I'mma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire" or "You swore you'd never hit 'em, never hurt 'em... You push, pull each other's hair, scratch, claw, bit 'em, pin 'em down, so lost in the moments when you're in 'em." I don't believe kids my sister's age (12) should be exposed to this more mature content at such an early age. They are just not quite ready for the thematic elements in this song.
I actually think this song is... positive. I have to disagree with CSM's review, teens aren't stupid; they know that Eminem means to condemn domestic violence, not glamorize it. Once you get past the language, it's really not an inappropriate song.
If Rihanna liked the way it hurt, she'd still be with Chris Brown.
I HATE EMINEM. SO MUCH. He's my least favorite rapper, which is saying a lot since I don't like rap music at all, my least favorite musician, and my least favorite songwriter. That may sound harsh, but his lyrics are terrible! And I know this song was meant to show what can happen to relationships and abuse. So I get why Rihanna would be in it. But, the song just makes no sense! It was very popular in August 2010, which was my birthday, and I couldn't stand it. It was constantly playing, and it didn't put me in a good mood. I'm not a Slim Shady fan, and I am 99.9% sure I never will be...
Heavy, depressing and just not all that great single by Eminem is too mature for many teens
Love the Way You Lie, is quit possibly one of Eminem's weekest songs in a very long time, and while it has a oerful message about demosetic abuse and relationships, it is very hard to pick up since the song is so angry. Also, there is some occasional sexual references, some deomestic violence involving constant figthing between couples, one non-graphic line about drug use and frequent but not very strong profanity, but there is at least 4 F-words. One of his more disspointing songs with decent memory.
