What parents need to know

Parents need to know that "MAKE A WAVE" is an extremely wholesome song that encourages kids to engage in selfless acts of kindness that will make the world a better place. It contains absolutely nothing in the way of adult content.

  • Lovato and Jonas relay a super positive and selfless message in this song: "Just a pebble in the water can set the sea in motion / A simple act of kindness can stir the widest ocean / If we show a little love heaven knows what we could change."
  • All of the proceeds from sales of this song on iTunes are being donated to environmental charities.

What's the story?

"Make a Wave" is the new duet between teen singing star Demi Lovato and JoBros heartthrob Joe Jonas. The two self-proclaimed best friends (who recently went public with their budding romance) recorded the track for the Disney's upcoming movie Oceans -- a film about the world of the sea and all of the things that happen within. Like the movie, the single is meant to promote environmental awareness; to that end, all of the song's lyrics are extremely wholesome and positive, encouraging people to take a global view and help protect the environment for generations to come.

Is it any good?

The musical style of "Make a Wave" adheres to the pop approach in most of the other music made by both Lovato and Jonas -- guaranteeing that the song will appeal to the legions of young fans who admire both artists. While Jonas is a slightly stronger singer than Lovato, both give fine performances here that are strengthened by their truly heartfelt delivery.

Joe Jonas & Demi Lovato are excellent role models for anyone to emulate. They truly champion not only environmental causes, but also Special Olympics and Diabetes (Jonas) and Female Self-Esteem and Anti-Bullying (Lovato). They are talented young adults and this song, used in the film OCEANS, is very inspirational to ALL ages!

Amazing!
To be quite honest, I love this song, and so does my nine year-old. Addison is crazy about this song as she's very into recycling and trying to save the earth. She loves the way that it sounds, as well. It's a very clean song, and I would love to see more music like this. Make a Wave is an inspirational song, overall. Demi and Joe also make great role models for doing this, it's very selfless and motivating. It makes me want to do something nice, just 'cause I can. Make a Wave sends a very positive message as well, and let's just say this: Addy and I love this song!
