What parents need to know

Parents need to know that the Jonas Brothers remain true to form on this CD, delivering a live performance that's just as clean as their studio recordings. Unlike other bands that may make off-the-cuff (and off-color) comments during live shows, these guys are clearly working from a positive, upbeat script geared toward a young audience, and they never stray far from it.

What's the story?

Now that they've reached superstar status, tween trio the Jonas Brothers are following in the footsteps of many great bands who came before them by releasing a live CD. MUSIC FROM THE 3D CONCERT EXPERIENCE serves as a soundtrack to its visual counterpart -- an IMAX movie of their performances produced by Disney. The track list features a smattering of the JoBros' kid-friendly hits like "Burnin' Up," "Pushin' Me Away," and "BB Good," plus one equally innocuous new song, "Love Is On Its Way." The star power gets kicked into overdrive with guest appearances by another Disney darling, Demi Lovato, and teen country star Taylor Swift.

Is it any good?

It's hard to mask mediocre talent during a live show, when there's less opportunity to tweak weakness with production tricks. That said, the Jonas Brothers give a strong performance in The 3D Concert Experience, with all three brothers regularly hitting their notes and keys -- an especially impressive achievement given that their young skills are still maturing. Judging by the constant screams of glee that continue throughout every song, their fans agree. Like their other tunes, their new song "Love Is On Its Way" is no feat of musical genius, but it provides their young audience with a positive message about remaining optimistic in the face of adversity: "Leaders, show us how to love each other / It could help us to recover / Love is on its way."

What families can talk about

Families can talk about how the Jonas Brothers keep their music "clean" in an industry that often isn't. What do you like about the Jonas Brothers' music? Do you like the way they perform on stage in front of their fans? Do you think the brothers' public personas match their onstage personalities? Older kids: if you were at a real concert, what kind of communications plan can families put in place if you need to contact your parents immediately?

Pretty Good entertainment!
The Movie is not a documentary, tho it looks like it is. It is an almost-behind-the-scene look at the 3 Brothers life on the road from concert to concert, and the things they care about. It's entertaining to watch but you will not learn anything new, not get any insights into the kids. The 3-D is pretty good in that they don't over use the effect, but from time to time you realize it looks a lot better than on a flat experience. Good singing, good performing, good clean goofing off among themselves.

Not a good movie
It has a tie in with disney. The movie isn't good at all, neither is the singing.
