What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this album offers more sweet, wholesome pop from teen heartthrob Justin Bieber. Mentions of kissing are as edgy as it gets -- and since the record includes no adult content or profanity, it's a great choice for younger kids.

  • Plenty of positive messages fill these songs, with most of them about caring for a girl just the way she is.
  • By donating a portion of the proceeds from this record to the Children's Miracle Network, Bieber sets a great example for other successful artists to follow.
  • Not applicable.
  • Some references to kissing.

What's the story?

MY WORLD ACOUSTIC is the third My World album from pop superstar Justin Bieber. As its name implies, the record features unplugged versions of Bieber's biggest hits, including "One Time," "Baby," and "Favorite Girl." It also packs in two additional tunes: "Never Say Never," a collaboration with Jaden Smith (a.k.a. The Karate Kid), and "Pray," Bieber's new single about helping those less fortunate. Like usual, all of the songs are free of questionable content and include lots of positive messages about love and life.

Is it any good?

The nice thing about having great pipes like Bieber's is that when you do an acoustic album, it's not a vocal disaster. Bieber's voice holds up in these songs even without the big-time studio arrangements, proving that he's a bona-fide singing star. Highlights here include "Favorite Girl" (if you can ignore the sounds of his screaming fans in the background) and the particularly positive lyrics of the new single "Pray."

What families can talk about

  • Families can talk about what makes some young artists (like Bieber) want to donate their time and money to charity. How can regular kids give back to the community?

  • Who are some other young artists that you admire for their generosity and contributions to the community?

God bless Justin Bieber. He's doing good things for people. So stop hating on him. I bet if you were famous you wouldn't give back. You would probably just sit on your throne and yell at people. But Justin's visiting kids in hospitals, and all his concert tickets pay for Pencils of Promise, which is a charity that builds schools for the poor across the world. He's built 15 schools with his tour. Also, his music is REALLY good acoustic. Best album yet.
