Why We Rated This on for Ages 3 and Up

The good stuff

  • Messages:

Most of the songs on the album are about simple fun for preschoolers. But adults might not embrace the message in "Get Up and Go Go Go: "Every day I wake up I mess up my monster bed, then I go and shower and put mustard on my head, I put on clothes I've already worn, ohh my dirty clothes are much more fun."

What to watch out for

  • Violence:

    Not an issue.
  • Sex:

    Not an issue.
  • Language:

    Not an issue.
  • Consumerism:

Basically a promotion for the Disney Channel's daytime cartoon programming block, Playhouse Disney. All the songs are taken from Playhouse Disney series with many theme songs included on the album.
  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

    Not an issue.

What Parents Need to Know

About Playhouse Disney Music Play Date

Parents need to know that if their kids are avid viewers of Playhouse Disney, this album should be familiar music. All of the songs come straight from the Disney Channel's preschool programming. Shows like Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse are just a few that are featured prominently on the album. That's good news for dedicated viewers, but if you are looking to add some musical diversity to your house, this CD won't cover any new ground.
