What Parents Need to Know

About "Prom Queen" (CD single)

Parents need to know that Lil Wayne's latest single is surprisingly clean. Sure Wayne talks about fancy underwear and drops the f-bomb a few times, but this single inidicates that the hardcore rapper is dipping a toe into mainstream music. Although the song is about unrequited love and lust, the lyrics aren't sexual or misogynistic.

Families Can Talk About

  • Families can talk about Lil Wayne's image change. This single marks the rapper's move into rock 'n roll. It also signals a much cleaner approach to lyrical content. Do you think this is a calculated move on Lil Wayne's part to be less hardcore and more mainstream? How do you think his fans will respond? Do you think it is easy for a musician to switch genres?

good for the mature preteen and average teen

when i first heard this song, I wasn't too impressed by lil wayne's vocals, but I was pleased by the fact that he left this song to only 3 f words, and thats pretty good considering the fact that he loads all of his songs with inexusable language.parents this is appropriate for your teens, and maybe some mature pre-teens. :)

This song is really good!! =D I love it. The only thing about it is that they say f**k once in every chorus. The very begginning says "I loved her fancy underwear" but other than that, theres nothing wrong.
