Parents need to know that this album might leave them feeling that singer Douglas Robb of Hoobastank would rather cuddle with your teenage daughter than do anything else. The lyrics are heavily geared toward teen feelings, including finding and losing first love and wanting to get out and explore the world -- preferably with someone else. It's all set to moderately heavy guitar rock that's neither too fast nor scary-heavy. If there's an offensive or dangerous moment on the whole record, good luck finding it.
Positive messages:Hopeful, positive, and mostly concerning relationships.
I really like this cd, and when I heard it I understood why it was popular. (Most popular music isn't that good in my opinion). This a good quality CD both music-wise and sining-wise (these people can sing REALLY well!)
Ok I like music. I own about 700 cds and I have about 500 others in the mp3 format. I have daughters ages 18, 10, 6. They all like this cd. Sure a couple of the songs are loud and heavy but the language is not bad, there is not a bunch of sex or drugs, and even the band themselves seem to be a pretty nice bunch of guys. It's rare to find a cd I like that my kids enjoy as well. I don't think I would buy it for my 6 yr old but the 10 yr old would be ok.
