Last year pretty much right after my 13th birthday, I started listening to "bad music". Secretly of course. My mother would never in a zillion years let me listen to this. But I love Eminem. I got t church and my youth pasted was talking about Eminem and how you shouldn't listen to his songs because it would encourage people to act like him and do what he says. And sure, maybe people do look to Eminem for ideas and stuff. But really, who is that stupid. "Oh, I did dope because Eminem says it's okay" No one would ever say that! So, I say if you are mature enough to handle it, then I don't see a problem.
The song cold wind blows is 1) terrible and disgusting and 2) the reason this album is not for kids, but nothing we haven't heard before. The rest of the album is gold, though.
OK. This whole review up there is seriously messed up.
1) Heard of clean versions?
2) No one will actually do what Eminem does
3) He's really sorta telling his life in his songs. It's Em's version of managing his anger! No Love is about how he was beaten up as a kid. That's really good stuff.
4) I've been listening to rap since I was like in 2nd grade. I started listening to Eminem when I was 10. I was really amazed by his rhymes. It's good stuff.
i think that people have a hard time understanding the underlying meaning of this album. Even though this album may seem bad, you have to look past all the bad stuff to understand the good message that can be learned from this album.
sorry but i have a problem thinking that this album is not for kids it is exactly for kids it is REAL. He raps about things that happen because its true unlike pop and other bull there is nothing wrong with kids listening to eminem unless you dont know how to parent your children
marshal [aka eminem] is awsome I love most of his songs and like to listen to the lyrics and kind of find out what the song is about plus I love singing along [kind of hard since he raps so fast].
Ok look i know that eminem isnt the cleanest rapper ever but he is extreamly inspirational and i personally love his music! i know that he has lyrics about doing drugs and drinking and having sex but also we teens are going to hear about that stuff anyways. we are going to hear these songs on the radio or pandora or i tunes or friends. as long as you know that your kids know that these things are bad i dont see why we shouldnt beable to listin to it.
honestly, the worst songs for kids to listen to are Space Bound, with it's extremely violent lyrics, especially in the last verse, and On Fire, probably the most graphic song on this album. I'm not gonna spoil this album for you, and most of the songs from this album that I've listened to you've probably heard of already. get the edited version if you're under 15.
Ok. Here's the deal. Eminem's music does have language and excessive sexual and violent content. However, it also has some songs with positive messages that can even be inspirational to some. I think this is appropriate for anyone as young as 8. My younger brother began listening to and loving Eminem around this age and he is now 11 and cannot get enough. It's not like things like what he discusses will not be heard of by your children anyone. It's better to see the wrong in it and tell them that it's wrong rather than to keep them as far away from it as you can, and they not know the difference. Or them listen to it behind your back without you knowing. My brother has a very good sense of what is right and wrong now.
Sure its innapropriate, but its just like and average day at school. For violence-people fight and threaten eachother on the playground, eminem announces it publicly. Sex-eminem talks about it, people make out in the hallways. Langauge-Eminem says the F word about 50 times throughout the album, most people in my class say it 12 times a day. Drugs-Eminem talks about them, its a common topic in my grade. Role models-Some of my friends are on the same bad role model level on eminem
This is definatly not as innaproprite as "Relapse", i dont know what they mean by violent lyrics. There really isnt anything bad compared to his other albums. The language is also turned down compared to "Relapse". (Language includes fword, sword, cwords, and many more) There is one song about sex (seduction). Overall, this is not to innaproprite, if your worried skip Cold Wind Blows. But Dont get the clean version! edits out way to much.
R- language
This album is amazing. I honestly don't think that the common sense team has been to a middle school and heard what some students have to say to each other, becasue they seem so protective. There is lots (lots) of swearing, but it doesn't take away from the point Eminem is trying to get across in his songs. He's sorry about what he did, and sometimes you have to use your french to get your point across. Some songs are really explicit, but I think all together the album is great. Really good for mature teens who know whats good and such.
