Sesame Street: Silly Songs

What’s the Story?

Reviewed by Jacqueline Rupp

For Sesame Street fans who've longed for SILLY SONGS to reappear on the music scene, the wait is over. After nearly 15 years, the Sesame Workshop classic is being re-released with all the favorite tunes in the line-up, like "The Honker-Duckie-Dinger Jamboree," "The Transylvania Polka," and the "Monster in the Mirror." Those not familiar with the Sesame ensemble can expect a CD full of wacky noises, upbeat tracks, and all the favorite residents of the famous address making appearances on the album.

Is It Any Good?

There's a reason why the Sesame Street franchise and this album in particular have endured through the years. The unique mix of high-energy, comic relief, and sweetness hit all the right buttons for a kids' compilation. What other group of characters could get away with singing about the shapes of noses ("Big Round Noses")? Kid will be introduced to a variety of musical styles, including the polka and waltz, as well as each Muppet's unique personality.
