Sharing the Same Stars
What’s the Story?
SHARING THE SAME STARS is the first collaboration between children's artist Ilene "Leeny" Altman and New York City singer/songwriter Tamara Hey. This fun, educational album is loaded with 14 original songs about such things as seat belt safety, ladybugs, being shy, potty troubles, little sisters, the 50 states, and the epidermis.
Is It Any Good?
It's hard to believe that this is a first joint effort for Leeny & Tamara, with vocals and melodies that mimic the long-time veteran duo the Indigo Girls, and musical arrangements that call to mind the epic partnership of Lennon & McCartney. From '50s doo-wop to pop country, their fresh, unexpected vocal lines weave through all types of music to make this album a fun ride for the ears. The catchy, quirky lyrics, touching on a spectrum of kiddie topics from seat belts to potty bloopers, teach kids about taking turns, ladybugs, and the 50 states. Parents and children will love learning the words and singing along, giggling and discovering about Vitamin C, baby animals, and "e-p-i-d-e-r-m-i-s."
