What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this country single presents a clean yet refreshingly realistic picture of what it's like to be in a healthy romantic relationship. Using clean language and making no adult references to sex or the like, the song doesn't sugar-coat the fact that two people who've been together a long time will naturally have their highs and lows -- a great message for kids (and adults) of any age.

  • A healthy, realistic message about how even the best relationships go through ups and downs.
  • The members of Sugarland maintain fairly low personal profiles, avoiding the media melodrama.

What's the story?

Powerhouse country duo Sugarland puts a refreshingly realistic spin on relationships in "STUCK LIKE GLUE," a single from their album of the same name. In the vast sea of songs that idealize relationships, this song stands out for its emphasis on what it means to be in a truly healthy one: though they may love each other a lot, both people in a relationship will naturally have moments when they don't feel as close. The song takes the pressure off being perfect in a relationship -- a message that's appropriate for kids of any age to hear. Sample lyrics include: "Some days I don't feel like trying, some days you know I wanna just give up ... You do that thing that makes me laugh, and just like that, there you go making my heart beat again."

Is it any good?

A super snappy, catchy beat backs "Stuck Like Glue," which features a country-infused acoustic guitar hook paired with the harmonizing of bandmates Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. The end result is an exceptionally cute sound that matches the sweet lyrics about staying together through the good times and the bad.

All ages.
Kind of weird--and funny, the way she says, "Would a spoon full 'a sugar make 'ya feel alright?" Miranda Cosgrove..........." doesn't know what she's talking about.

I'd just watch the video for inappropriate behavior as she kidnaps this guy that she likes. I love the song and the video itself, but for kids who have no idea, I would say this video is for 13+

Nice song. It's funny when she says "Would a spoon 'a sugar make ya feel alright?" Great, clean song about how relationships have there "up 'n downs" like Common Sense Media said:).

The word "sucks" is used and kidnapping is bad for a music video!
