What to talk about

Talk to your kids
  • Families can talk about friendship. What qualities do you want in your friends? Who is your best friend, and why?

  • There are many toys that eventually have movies made about them. Is it always okay to assume that just because your child has a toy, that it's okay to see the movie? Why or why not?

  • The land of pixies can come to life for fans in the online world PixieHollow.com, which is promoted here. Do you think it's fair to encourage fans, of any age, to get involved in an online world or game?

What's the story?

What's the story?

In her newest adventures in Pixie Hollow, Tinker Bell learns true lessons of friendship and determination. The soundtrack to Disney's Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure is full of the same lilting Irish-influenced delights as the movie, featuring popular teen artists such as Demi Lovato, Jordan Pruitt, Jesse McCartney, Savannah Outen, Tiffany Thorton, and Selena Gomez, with her hit "Fly to Your Heart," included from the previous Tinker Bell soundtrack. There's also bonus material available online using the CD at PixieHollow.com.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

If your little fairies liked the first Tinker Bell and its soundtrack, then they're going to love this one as well. The same soothing, Irish melodies and flutes surround the equally inspiring lyrics about the meaning of friendship and the importance of finding your dreams. It's a great soundtrack to just pop in and listen to on a long car ride, or when you're tired of all the other synth-filled, trifling emo-angst pop that often crowds the airwaves and iPods today. Young fans will enjoy every song, and maybe even be encouraged with its positive messages about the value of friends. Demi Lovato's "The Gift of a Friend" and Savannah's "A Greater Treasure than a Friend" are stand-outs, and fans will like that Selena Gomez's sweet song "Fly to Your Heart" is included as well.
