I think this review is blinded by its infamous music video. If this were a review for said video, I wold agree 100%: it is not appropiate for those under 17. However, this is suppose to be a review for the song, Telephone. As it turns out, it is a pretty good song.
Telephone deals with the futility of a lover to call because Gaga is enjoying a night out at the club. The chorus is instantly catchy and engaging, with a slight reference to alcohol (...sippin' that bubb). Beyonce steps in for a verse, adding her rousing vocals to the mix. Common telephone beeps and tones are thrown in, adding to the sense of chaos Gaga feelsin her head, ending with the common, "please hang up and try your call again."
virtually every song that lady ga ga stars in is inapproppriat! she wears clothes that show too much of her skin. in scene 1 of telphone the polcieguys stripped her down and she had her real live butt showing! She alsogoes out in public wering bra and thngs. i wear thongs, buy i don't show it 2 the world, but i like lady ga ga
The title pretty much says it all. The song has a good beat and catchy hooks, but the video is...disturbing..It doesn't really have anything to do with the song.
I have a lot of concerns about this video. I'm 24 and I have a 3 year old who will watch anything with music and bright colors (if I let her). This video has a lot of sexual references, death, and tons of cigarettes at one point. Yet if you just glance at it, it looks like it should be on Nick Jr. It looks like DJ Lance (from yo gaba gaba) is just going to bust out on it. I really dislike how they are poisoning everyone, it's weird and uncalled for. Why would they want me 3 year old to look at that? (I say that bc of how bright it is). Oh and why is the recipe necessary (Yes my daughter can read at age 3)? Why are they trying to explain in detail how to do things? I understand the idea of shock value but this is just weird. I also get that the video is looking back at Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, but those are both R rated movies that don't play on MTV, Fuse or any other cable network unedited. I've gone on about this a little too long but it's too weird for my taste and that means no one else in my house is watching it. Oh and in case you're thinking I'm just so weird like I am just such an over protective mom, I'm not. I'm a young mother raising a little girl and I just don't want the world to be any more confusing than it already is, so why make it that way? As a parent it's your job to protect your kids. If you wouldn't feed them rotten food why give them rotten (poison tv) ideas?
Come on guys. It's not like your kids haven't seen any of this before. She presents everything in a fun, interesting way that most other artists (ie Ke$ha) lack. She preaches celibicy and is an over all good role model.
