Why We Rated This not for kids

What to watch out for

  • Messages:

Most characters engage in frequent random sexual encounters, some of which force them to fabricate stories to end their partners' interest in continuing a relationship with them. One woman is a single mom who has little use for her tween daughter and allows her to listen to mature conversations among her friends.
  • Violence:

It's rare, but one scene showed a woman taking a swing at a guy's nose.
  • Sex:

Simulated sex and female nudity (upper body only) is common, as is bottom-patting and seductive brushes between nurses and doctors. Conversations are graphic as well, including discussions of a man's abilities in bed and comments like "nice ass."
  • Language:

"S--t," "piss," "Jesus," and "ass" are used frequently. "F--k" is also prevalent, but bleeped out. Some characters also let their middle finger do the cursing for them.
  • Consumerism:

    Not an issue.
  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

Lots of drinking and smoking; a good part of the show takes place in a bar. In one scene a woman tricks a guy into taking a strong sedative and enjoys a good laugh when it knocks him out.

What Parents Need to Know

About No Angels

Parents need to know that this hospital-set British drama is rife with casual sexual encounters, alcohol and tobacco use, female nudity (upper body only), and four-letter words. Much of how the doctors relate to nurses could be grounds for sexual harassment charges -- including one doctor making a nurse bend over to demonstrate how distracting her panty line can be to the male medical staff -- but the women instead thrive on the attention. One character is a single mom who has little time for her daughter and exposes her to the graphic sexual chitchat of her friends. All in all, this show is well deserving of its "mature audience" rating.
