What Parents Need to Know

This review of Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! was written by KJ Dell Antonia

Parents need to know that that this show is about as violent as cartoons get, with no attempt to offer lessons or teach social values -- unless you count saving the world. It's the kid cartoon equivalent of movies like Mission: Impossible: The fun is in the violence, if you like that sort of thing (and in this case, that's all there is). It's not age-inappropriate, per se, but there are better choices out there.

Families Can Talk About

Talk to your kids about the media in their life. We have more tools and tips that can help
  • Families can talk about why violent entertainment can be fun some of the time -- and why Americans, in general, really enjoy seeing the good guys blow the bad guys away. Is that good for us? Good for kids? Does it make people more violent or more indifferent to real violence? The issues weigh far more than this show.

More on Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!

What’s the Story?

SUPER ROBOT MONKEY TEAM HYPERFORCE GO! is the story of a boy who finds an abandoned robot. Inside is a team of powerful primates similar in size, shape, and appearance to the Powerpuff Girls dressed as Power Rangers. With the help of these monkeys, the boy has to save his besieged town from the evil villain on a weekly basis. Occasionally, they stop to view "game film" of themselves shooting at things and blowing them up in order to discuss (you guessed it) shooting at things and blowing them up. In every episode they get in the big robot and activate it by each shouting a word in turn: Super, Robot, Monkey, Team, Hyperforce, and then (all together now) Go!

Is It Any Good?

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go certainly isn't for young kids. The villains are scary looking, the plots hopelessly confusing and lacking in any kind of continuity. It's a show that works only if your main focus is on (all together now) shooting things and blowing them up. If your kids watch these action-adventure superpower style shows, this is just one more, no better than the rest, but not really any worse. It's less creative than Powerpuff Girls and lacks that program's humor, jokey attitude, and its arguable message of gender equality.

    Love it

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper force Go is a guarantee show for children or anybody for that matter looking for a deeper understanding in a cartoon series than most animated television shows nowadays. Unlike "Cartoon network" animated shows that have tons of mindless scenes; containing unnecessary 'pre-teen' matters, state of undress, absolutely no climax to its storyline, and characters that are pointless and disgusting! The main characters in this show have quality traits and colorful personalities that make each of them different from each other while they look alike, which teaches views to be unique no matter what. While on other shows whose appearance can be tasteless and behavior that just tries too hard to show comic relief but fail at proving mediocrity. There is something very unique about this show and that is ingenuity, something that most modern animated shows lack and that is admirable in many ways to this series that has won the hearts of many fans, despite age. Honestly there is no need to cancel a good show when clearly there are far more badly influenced shows that can be put off for good. If you pay close attention the main characters spend little of their time fighting ‘unconsciously’ as I hear people say and more development into understanding science fiction, fantasy and the value between good versus evil. Chiro, a young boy who is insightful, a bold leader with a good heart yet still acts like the good aged boy he is made to be. Antauri, the black now silver monkey, immensely sensible giving his teammates words of wisdom when in doubt and shows that there will always be justice when all situations seem at a loss. Otto, green monkey, the team mechanic whose intellect in engineering is outstanding despite in some fictional references, his wittiness gives this show more comedy relief and shows his personality optimistic in bad cases. Mr. Hal Gibson, the blue monkey, he is a math and science wiz who helps calculate in logic forms what to do in a situation giving views large vocabulary understanding while also showing comedy relief giving him a unique stability in the team. SPRX-77, the red monkey, a comedian at most times has a personality most boys would show off to , cares deeply for his teammates and shows multiple attitudes giving him a unique personality of ‘cool’ as well as giving many hints of romance to his love interest Nova. Nova, yellow monkey and the only female, spunky and tough she shows off that girls’ too can be best friends with boys as well as be equals, she is fierce but gentle and tenderly loving at times showing her feminine side. On the side note they as well have unique talents and abilities from their inner powers which are different from warfare, how they socialize with each other is entertaining none the less. Overall this show is very creative, heroic, and spontaneous in every episode, a show that is like no other and stimulates the young imagination to give you ideas you might never have had before. Putting off a good show tells viewers that it’s not good enough, which tells the young public that imagination and creativity is limited. Each character gives a sense of teamwork when working together, and teaches viewers how teamwork can go oh so far and that there is certainly no ‘I’ in joint effort. And show that monkeys can too be a cool animal ;)

The best show, and you are bashing it

OK! I am seriously fed up! This show is the best freakin show out there! It has some crushes, emotion, and lessons. I seriously cried when i watched the season two finale, and trust me, i do not cry that much. It is just such a good show! and i know no one has reviewed this show in a while, but right now it is cancelled because someone was grumpy and wanted to ruin the lives of millions of little kids. This show is very great and not just stupid mindless violence. You can refer to me as Spova Lover. p.s. Spova is the monkey couple in this awesome show. so blah.

Whoever says this is a Powerpuff knockoff must really like powerpuff girls

Many people here have bashed this show for being stupid, too much violence and no storyline. I just have to say they are being the ignorant ones. This show just keeps getting better especially into the recent seasons. This show is a miracle what it can do to people by inspiring them to do amazing things to save it. For example, a teenager who makes a WEBSITE dedicated to saving this show must somewhat enjoy it. Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go is a must-see show for teenagers looking for a deeper understanding than most television shows. The characters have traits and personalities that make them different from characters on other shows whos lines are so cheesy and personlities are about as dull as a doorknob. That's it. There's nothing more to it. But SRMTHG is special. There is something we all in ways can relate, and somethings we never could have imagined. They actually spend little of their time fighting, or in combat, and more planning and contemplating and expressing themselves. I know all of the characters by heart. Chiro, a young boy who is sensitive but a bold leader with a good heart. Antauri, the black now silver monkey, wise and cares much about his comrades. Otto, the team mechanic who loves enjoying life and sometimes can be kind of witless. Gibson, the science geek who helps calculate what to do in a situation. Sparks, a comedian and "ladies man". Nova, strong, fierce and tenderly loving at times. Now listen to me, did I even mention their combat skills yet? Or inner powers which are different from combat? Or how they socialize with eachother? Monkies are very social, and can learn much from them. Overall this show is creative, mysterious, nerve-wracking a at times can make you all tingly and stimulate your imagination to give you ideas you might never have had before. I dream about this show very often.
