What parents need to know

Parents need to know that the main characters in this edgy cartoon, two stray dogs, lampoon Hollywood's most popular celebrities. That means that adult themes like drug use, alcoholism, and anorexia are examined. What's more, stars' body parts (think breasts) and behaviors (think kissing) are exaggerated via animation.

  • Real-life celebrity foibles are skewered mercilessly, so everything from greed to selfishness is depicted. Some of the jokes are mean-spirited, but that's kind of the point. Some questionable images of women (in one episode, they were on leashes and essentially treated like dogs).
  • Not applicable.
  • Some innuendo, and graphic (animated) displays of hooking up. Since animated celebrites are drawn as caricatures, some body parts are emphasized (Angelina Jolie's breasts, for example) and, in some cases, slavered over. Close-up shot of an animated dog's rear end and genitals.
  • Relatively mild: "hell," "damn," "ass," "nuts," "douchebag." Anything stronger is bleeped.
  • Not applicable.
  • Talk of drug use and binge drinking. Animated celebs are shown smoking (cigarettes and, by implication, marijuana) and drinking.

What's the story?

In MTV2's WHERE MY DOGS AT?, stray canines Buddy and Woof keep viewers entertained as they navigate Hollywood's mean streets, where they run into -- and lampoon -- some of pop culture's most recognizable stars. In each episode, the pair (voiced by producer Jeffrey Ross and Saturday Night Live alum Tracey Morgan) work hard to evade their enemy, the Dogcatcher. As a result, they find themselves in completely off-the-wall situations. In one episode, for example, they're hired by Lindsay Lohan to accompany her to a red carpet event promoting animal rights. They later end up at Angelina Jolie's house, where they must entertain her son Maddox, who wants nothing to do with them.

Is it any good?

True celebrity buffs will get a kick out of the "insider jokes" that pepper each episode. Where My Dogs At? is fun, and those who can look beyond the sometimes mean-spirited jokes will find a half-hour of mindless giggles.

What families can talk about

Families can talk about the nature of celebrity. If stars have sought out the spotlight, does that mean they're fair game? Why are people so obsessed with the private lives of music, movie, and TV stars?
