What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this cartoon follows the lives of two bachelor brothers who happen to be beavers. The tension caused by their completely different personalities creates entertaining, laugh-out-loud situations. Potty humor and slapstick rule the day in this zany tale of two young dudes who make quite a mess as they go about living life to the fullest. Nonetheless, kids will learn about acceptance and forgiveness as Norbert and Daggett face life together during the good and bad times.

What's the story?

THE ANGRY BEAVERS bears certain similarities to the classic sitcom The Odd Couple -- both are about a pair of guys (human roommates in one case, beaver siblings in the other) who are as different as can be but need each other anyway. After being kicked out of their home to make space for their mother's new brood, Norbert (voiced by Nick Bakay) and Daggett Beaver (Richard Steven Horvitz) set out to build their own home and a life based on their own whims. Living together proves difficult; they gradually learn to deal with each other -- and to forgive each other's attempts to get rid of the other.

Is it any good?

While the series' humor may seem sophomoric, it's actually quite funny. But since it plays heavily on the violent nature of sibling rivalry, it's not the best fit for the youngest viewers. Norbert and Daggett are constantly trying to smash each other to bits -- not what you want to show kids who are learning to get along with siblings. But middle-graders and young tweens will get a kick out of watching the beavers get into fights, knowing that at the end of the day they're still brothers and love each other.

The Angry Beavers teaches kids a little bit about being a good sibling, and young viewers will recognize and appreciate the comedic play and tension between the beaver brothers. As long as kids know the limits of cartoon violence and are old enough to handle Norb and Dag's romping around, The Angry Beavers will certainly catch their interest.

What families can talk about

Families can talk about the relationship between the brothers. Children may empathize with the tension between the siblings, so parents can discuss what it takes to be a good brother or sister. How do Norb and Dag reconcile their problems? What happens when kids have problems with their own siblings? Why is forgiveness important? How can you express your upset feelings without hurting others?

One of the few Nicktoons that are actually funny!
I remember back in the mid 00's when they aired an episode or two of this show as an afternoon special one week, and I loved it. I just recently took another look at this on youtube, and its as good as I remembered! The slapstick humor (with minimal gross-out humor, thank you) is especialy funny, the characters are unique along with the setting. The voice talent is surpisingly good, and the wacky plot lines are entertaining. The best thing about this cartoon is that it has its own brand of humor. The creator did a great job at making the comedy not too slow paced (Like "Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends")but not so fast that you don't have time to analize the first gag before there on to the next one(Like the mostly unfunny "The Fairly Odd Parents"). All this great stuff makes it seem like this TV show would have been still airing, Right? WRONG! It was cancled after just three season's, which might sound like an achievment for an ordinary cartoon, but this wasn't any ordinary cartoon! Definatly would suggest for anyone who wants a good, clever laugh.

Two generations of laughter
This show has been around for a while. I started watching this show in middle school and now I watch it with my six-year-old daughter. Dagget is silly and a bit of a goof and Norbert, his more cultured older bro, likes to pronounce words creatively. We have lots of fun mimicking him around the house. I have passed my stuffed Daggy-wag doll down to her.

Cute cartoon!
I suggest this over Spongebob Squarepants. I don't know why kids like Spongebob but this cartoon is one of those classics that any age can relate too. It's funny enough to keep them watching and the plots are similar enough to their own lives to keep them sitting still! Among those plots there are the zany , weird ones that lot's of people look for. Completely original and parallel. I love this show and I'm over the supposed age level. This is one of the shows I grew-up watching and will always love. Highly recommended for any children! The plots are great, the humor is great and the violence will not have you sharing your bed with your child(ren).

I liked it.
I enjoy the show of the Angry Beavers. I saw a bit of episodes but I will be wacthing lots of Angry Beavers if my Comast Digital Cable had no problems. At first my mother didn't let me watch this. Then she figured out that it was 7+ on 4 stars, so she decided to give this show to me. Even my father.

I NEVER watched this show, LOL...
...I JUST got obsessed w/ it BC Richard Horvitz plays Dag (I originally like Invader ZIM:) OK, so like...here are the things :) -Norb and Dag fight alot (brotherly fights). -They make up their own language (for example: "SPOOT!" in place of cuss words) -They do mean things to each other (The episode "Utter Nonsense", for example) Look at my recommendations :D
