    Hmmmmm...

Arthur always kinda scared me; I think he's creepy looking. But my kids seemed to like it.

    Better for kids 5+

My older daughter (now 6) started watching Arthur when she was 3. I would have waited until she was 5 because the characters don't always treat each other respectfully. While kids 5 and up will likely grasp the lesson that this behavior is not ideal, younger kids might just observe the behavior and miss the message that it's not ideal.

    There are worse things....

I can't believe some parents think this is a bad show, also that 8 years would watch. My 4 year old has almost outgrown it. I think it's a cute show for ages 2 to 4.

i cant believe most of you parents...

i was reading on arthur for a laugh but when i saw the review that said: some language like stubid and dumb is used, ok to watch sometimes, i lost it. its a kids show for babies and you think its ok for people ages 8 and up to watch. by the time theyre 8 they wont wanna watch it any more.in fact your STUPID for not letting your kid watching arthur and your DUMB for even looking on this site to see if its appropriate for your eight year olds. i say ages 2 and up because there is nothing wrong with it.

    Beware

I have not let my kids watch Arthur because I don't like the way that Arthur interacts with his siblings. It does not promote a positive attitude toward family members, but rather animosity and blaming. There are lots of other shows with a positive message and we choose to watch those (or nothing) instead!

    My concerns are:
    • Inappropriate language

Let's go back to the episode "Bleep". THEY USE BLEEPED OUT LANGUAGE CSM. Even though "Bleep" was banned and was aired only once with the weird rating "TV-Y7-L", it still went UNCENSORED by accident somewhere, I think you shouldn't watch "Bleep". The rest of the show is fine. Other then that, 4 stars.

    The best PBS Kids show!

Unlike most shows on PBS Kids (Sesame Street, Barney, Teletubbies, Comfy Couch) Arthur can be enjoyed by people older than ten, since it has actual plot. No wonder it has lasted over twelve years!

Arthur just goes to show that a cartoon doesn't have to have crude humor to be funny, or to be worthwhile. There are no 'bad' characters, as each bully seems to have a softer side. I watched it constantly when I was younger, and sometimes I watch it now. It gives a true insight of what it's like to be a kid, usually.

    Teach the kids a lesson!

The kid's show Arthur is very entertaining. It shows those litle things that make life so great. I can really relate to Arthur and his friends. They all overcome real life problems, like annoying little sisters, rich friends, and telling the truth. I think that if you want your child to watch and learn about real life and develop street-smarts, then turn on Arthur on PBS kids. You won't be sorry.

    Good Educational Show!

Arthur takes real life situations and puts them in motion. Problems faced by the characters in the cartoon are solved by showing learned lessons. Great show for kids!

    really good show

i think it is a really good show. i have grown up with it. it shows that familys have rules like chores. you have to earn your money. unless you are muffy getting everything you want. tell your kids that you are not rich like muffys family. and you cant always get what you want. and how to deal with life problems like owning a pet.

I have been watching Arthur since I was 4 and still watch it now. It's funny and smart, and it has a great message for kids. I don't know what some parents are talking about, syaing that it has language. It is an awesome show that has a meaning and a message in every show. It's fun for all ages!

You shouldn't watch this if you're older than nine...

This show is okay if you're in second or third grade, but if you're any older than that, you've probably learned everything that the show is supposed to teach-- and it's so lame at that point that you're an easy target for a bully. I think that PBS Kids is aware of this and are trying to make it 'cool' by adding High School Musical songs in the commercial, which only makes them seem even more desperate. And no offense, but High School Musical was created for self-absorbed teenagers.

    AWSOME!!

I'm 14 and I hate the new tv shows for young kids! Arthur is a GREAT show and it is also a book. when i was little Aruthur was ONLY a book but the TV show is AWSOME!!!!!!! if you are looking for some other TV shows for your kids i can suggest some: Arthur, Berinstein Bears, Dragon Tales, Bannans in Pajamas, Lambchop, The Big Comfy Couch, Geroge Shrinks, Franklein.... and many more... A really good TV channel is PBS kids also known as TPT kids [www.pbskids.com o r www.pbs.com] they show a lot of crap on nickiloden, disney, and cartoonnetwork... i think alot of the older shows are better... the knew ones are to animated your childs brain will turn to mush!!
