What to talk about

Talk to your kids
  • Families can talk about issues that are brought up in each episode and relate them to their own family.

  • How can we treat other people with kindness? Why is it a good idea to cooperate with family members?

  • What does respect look like, and why do we show it to others?

  • What mistakes does Loonette make, and what does she learn from them?

What's the story?

What's the story?

Relying heavily on viewers to put their imaginations to active use, THE BIG COMFY COUCH is a live-action show centering around the adventures of Loonette, a teenaged clown who sings, dances, tells stories, hangs out with her family, and plays with her dolls on the oversized sofa that gives the show its name.

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

Those just tuning in to The Big Comfy Couch will probably be tempted to switch channels and look for fare more dazzling to the eye. The cheesy costumes, amateurish makeup, and extremely rudimentary sets are unappealing when compared with stunning new-style kids' shows like The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron.

But there's something endearingly chintzy about the show, too, with its reliance on imagination and pretending that hearkens back to old-school '70s kids' shows like Captain Kangaroo and The New Zoo Review. Parents should give The Big Comfy Couch a chance: Whereas the new shows are bing-bang-boom attention-grabbing eye-candy, there's a sweetness and gentleness to The Big Comfy Couch that parents will appreciate -- and a slowness that's calming to kids raised on short-attention-span televised junk food.

WOW Must Watch
Wow i cant believe this show is till on. I loved this growing up from when I was like 2 Me and My big and little brothers loved the show. There is only one bad thing for parents for the show you will find new things in your couch everyday for letting your kids watch it. Me and my brothers tired well did play along with pulling thing out of the couch. Stretching with the clock I never would have guessed that was exercise until now 15 years later I will let my future kids watch the show all day long its better then what things they have on now. Miss this show big time

A toddler classic
My two-year old daughter loves this show. Lunette and her dolly certainly appeal to her. She loves the dust bunnies and the 10-second tidy certainly helps to get her to clean her room.

Perfect for anyone who thinks positively about life in general:)
my two teenagers LOVED this show when they were little... I have another child who is about to turn 2 and the older girls keep telling me I need to track down comfy couch dvd's for her so she can watch Loonette and Molly too. I had totally forgotten about the show and they brought it up!

pointless and unrealistic
This show is soooooooooooooo unrealistic. Its a female clown ( how many of those do you see at the circus) and a doll made to seem alive. They do crap in the show, like in the begining, the clown stretches her arms and legs around like a clock! There is usually a problem and they solve it. The clown reads a dumb story on the couch, and then they do the 10 second tidy with the pit around their couch. ( Thats like an hour and the producers put it in fast motion and its never really ten seconds. This show is a waste of time.

LoVe iT!!

Cute Kid Show is a must for Tots!
This is one of the greatest preschool shows of all time in my opinion. It's a lot better than Yo Gabba Gabba , and Wow Wow Wubzy! This sweet show about Loonette the Clown and her doll Molly is a guarenteed must for all children! It went from little issues liking making rude noises, but also to the death of a caterpillar Loonette befriended. It was a cute show, and the older episodes before the newer Loonette came are superior.
