Stupid. Typical. Boring.
This show has no substance. It's just a group of dumb, annoying boys who get themselves in ridiculous situations. The humor is lame and typical. The only thing I like is a few of the songs are really catchy. They should go into music and stay away from the acting. HOWEVER I will say that they did a good job of not adding anything inappropriate. The only reason I rated this as a show for 10 and up is because I think younger kids would find it boring. It mostly has to do with teenage boys lusting after teenage girls and trying to get teenage girls. *yawn*

BIG TIME LAMENESS!
I can't believe Common Sense rated it on 7+! This show is about 4 (I think) smart alec boys. The show is really snobby and annoying! It's REALLY in your face and loud and SUPER fake! Gustavo (if that's how you spell it) is pretty mean to the boys and if they don't get their way they have to trick them or whatever. The show is lame and the 4 dudes are bad role models for little kids though there is sometimes the odd good message like "If you work together you can get stuff done" or something like that. The boys also refer to girls as chicks and they're kinda girl obsessed. DON'T WASTE YOU TIME!

I'm probably too old, but I quite enjoy this show. I think that all though the boys get into some questionable situations (they usually get themselves into) the most positive message through the whole show is sticking together, and friendship is really a big positive message for them.
The concerns I have are minimal, one of them being the safety issue, especially with Carlos (the latino with the helmet) as he's usually getting into very bruise=worthy situations.
As for my concerns with user content, the Nick web page of course is always kid friendly, but be mindful of the younger kids online, because some of the fans have some... questionable content involving the four boys in quite intimate situations with each other. Though I doubt they could find it, unless perhaps specifically looking for it.
Otherwise I'd say the show itself is fantastic. It's got some slight humor for the older kids, that may go over younger heads, and enough slapstick funny comedy for those at a younger age. Not to mention the songs are very well done, and something I think even a parent could enjoy hearing in the car multiple times while their kids enjoy.

i have to agree with Stape's review below, why is this rated for 8 and up when it is about teens doing teen things e.g. chasing girls/crushes/kissing. not what an 8 year should be relating to. Please stop the "tween" myth!!!! 8 year olds are 2nd graders not middle schoolers! children not pre-teens! whoa steppin down from the soapbox sorry

I agree with WaterNymph. This show IS boring. The jokes are from over one thousand different movies, books, shows, etc. Nickoledon has incredibly stupid shows. So stupid that I don't even remember if there were ever any good shows even from back then. 1. The boys act like complete idiots, which is unrealistic considering they're teenagers. 2. What's up with the sound effects? If they want sound effects so bad then they should've made this a cartoon! 3. There songs are annoying. It sucks because they're actually pretty talented, but the tunes are just-- Ugh!
Nickelodeon needs to find something better to create.

Who is the target audience????
The show really is not bad and I don't mind my kids watching it. I am frustrated that all "age appropriate" shows for 7 and 9 year old boys are about the lives of teenagers. My son complains all of the time that we treat him like a baby and he can't wait until he is a teenager...shows like this do NOT help. Why can't anyone make a show with, for and about grade school kids???
On the other hand, I don't think any teenagers would watch this because it is so unrealistic and hokey. During the episode I watched the boys had an unapproved "get together" that turned into a blow-out bash. Let's just say things turn out differently for most 15 year olds who have parties when their parents are out of town. Why does my 7 year old need to see this?

NOT BAD AT ALL!
The show is a very different show compared to the JONAS series (what a bunch of DORKS at DISNEY) The show inspires tweens to go for their dreams (it inspired a few friends of mine to go to Nick Casting Calls in Miami actually even I went) It's creative and fun to watch each character has a personality that sets him or her apart (ex Kendall is more of a leader while Logan is the awkward yet funny nerd) Not bad for a teen sitcom!!!!!!! Also the songs are catchy and radio-esque and ready to be hits!

What is this another Disney V.S. Nick show?
Eh, I gave it a shot. Only of course to be disapointed again. It's like a Jonas Brother thing except none of them are related. The little girl is alright, but the guys.... eh. Why can't there be shows about something OTHER than being famous? I mean, I guess the show could be worse, but the acting isn't very good, and the guys are constantly gushing over some 'hot chic' that comes along. Now its onto "he just kissed my girlfriend!" thing. Sigh..... Here we go. If people want to direct shows, be a little more creative.

I LOVE this show. Sure, It has kissing like when Camille in "Big Time Love Song" Came out of nowhere and kissed Logan, and sometimes people kiss (Mostly Camille kissing Logan) But that's it! That's life! People kiss! It's human nature!!! I never miss an episode and i think it is really funny. They say Jerk or Shut Up or Oh my god alot, but There 16 year old boys! (Well, in real life there 19 and 20) My age kids say MUCH WORSE swares. No joke. The show shows 4 boys who become famous and discover the cutthrout music world, but it is true. It teaches kids what life is like being famous, and thats it not all money and fame. It's a hard life being famous. If you do one wrong thing your thought of a "Bad Rolemodel"

Hypnotising Kids to get into dating
This show is hypnotising kids to get into dating! There is some bf gf thing every episode. And James is too inapropriate. In one episode, all he did was show his abs. The boys act immature too, Kendalls little sister acts like an adult (in cartoons like The Simpsons and Family Guy thats ok, because they arent aimed at young adiences). Then girls saying KENDALL IS MINE,JAMES IS HAWT!, LOGAN IS CUTE!!CARLOS IS AWESOME! etc. is annoying. All kids tune into this show for is to look at the boys. They dont care whats going on. Just pass this one.

Hey, we know they can't sing. Um, so....half of the singers out there can't sing. Yea dey deserve a show, and uh everyone luvs btr...like dey r popping. Hey dey have morales at the end of ur show. Please gustavo is realistic cuz not every1 has 2 b nice. I think that btr but the the color on the tv and stuff. Um, the sound effects is essential. One becuase imagine the movements and reactions of the boys without the sound effects. They dont need 2 act becuse dey r already amazingly skilled...hehe. And this inspires kids that a dream is a dream. Never give up on it. even if ur a in a small town, There is always a person that will discover u. Just like Btr. so back off.

Well im 13 i love the show i think all ages should be able to watch the show !! 1) it teaches good lessons about friendship and working well with other 2) its an amazing show for all ages 3) If ya dont like it your missing out on alot ! (: SOme reasons parents may not let children watch it 1)The pranks they pull some are harsh 2) The on and off relationships and flirting 3)some Violence(: I think the show is perfect for all ages ! Theyy have the greatest lessons to teach little kids and Relationship lessons to teach older kids(:

Great show for all ages!
This is a good show for all kids. Very relatable to the oldschool monks tv show. Cute and funny the characters are decent role model who are sweet and try to always do the right things and get their ways at the same time. Great for ages 2 to 200!

It's just wannabe singers. It sucks. Sadly, to all you BTR fans, it's a "big time" ripoff of Disney's Jonas. It's not watchable.

Wow. Just... I demand to know who wrote the script! It was just so BAD. The lines were unrealistic, as were the characters. And just to put it out there: WHAT IS WITH ALL THE SOUND EFFECTS?!? They were very annoying. Just because they're singers, doesn't mean they can have their own show! (As we can all see: no acting skills what-so-ever for the main characters.) Wow, Nickalodeon just keep dwindling. I'd say "Big Time Rush" is more suitable for Nick Jr. It'll keep the naive little kitties busy.
