The spunky young hostess is just as passionate about wildlife as her famous dad, and catchy song-and-dance numbers add to the learning in a fun, kid-friendly way. Viewers of all ages will come away with a new appreciation for nature's diversity and be reminded of the importance of preserving animals' natural habitats.

Educational value: Teaches kids (and their parents) about animals from around the world.
Positive messages: Underscores the importance of conserving animals' natural habitats to protect their existence.
Positive role models: Bindi is plucky, enthusiastic, and fearless when it comes to animals. Her passion is infectious, and kids are bound to find her a positive role model.

What to talk about

Talk to your kids
  • Families can talk about how Bindi is following in her dad's footsteps. Does it seem natural that she'd have her own show, or contrived? How is she similar to and different from her famous father?

  • How does a species become endangered? What can we do to help them? How might the world be affected by the extinction of various kinds of plants and animals?

What's the story?

What's the story?

Following in her wildlife-warrior dad's footsteps, dynamic tween Bindi Irwin welcomes viewers to her soaring, two-story treehouse to meet and learn about some of her favorite animals in BINDI: THE JUNGLE GIRL. From her lofty digs overlooking the jungle, Bindi gets cozy with her diverse roommates, including a rare iguana, a koala bear, a puppy, and a corn snake who shares her bed. Never mind how slithery or slimy they are -- to her, leeches are plenty lovable, and pythons have beauty to spare. In addition to getting hands on with the animals around her, Bindi shares video of herself, her parents, and Australia Zoo director Wes Mannion interacting with wildlife from around the globe. Elephants, lions, bison, kangaroos, and -- of course -- crocodiles are just a few of the subjects they show in action, both in the wild and in captivity. The young hostess answers questions from kids in a segment called "Bindi's Blog" (a version of which also appears online), and mom Terri pops in here and there with "crikey!" amazing facts about animals. To top it all off, there's singing and dancing from Bindi's four-man crew, The Crocmen, who harmonize to kid-pleasing tunes like "When the Hippo Moves Her Hips."

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

This engaging, fast-paced series is the first starring the daughter of the late Steve Irwin and his animal-activist wife, Terri, and 8-year-old Bindi proves she's more than ready to carry on the family tradition of mixing wildlife education with fan-pleasing entertainment. Her passion for critters of all shapes and sizes -- from tiny geckos to brawny gorillas -- practically oozes from her pores, and viewers are easily swept up in the excitement.

The need for conservation underscores every aspect of this educational series, and it's all delivered in a kid-friendly way by an adorably spunky star that young viewers can relate to. Families will find lots to love here. Just take this caveat to heart: After watching Bindi snuggle with her housemates, be ready with ample arguments against your kids having their own open-air homes and critter friends.

We want more!
As teacher I was thrilled to see a show my grandchildren really connected with. Especially my 5 year old granddaughter. And... I was really sad when the world lost her dad, a real fighter for animal rightsl, and a lovable character.

Good show for young kids
This is a really good show for kids to watch. I found it very interesting, but I didn't learn anything. However a 5-9 year old would love it!

Very interesting
I personally think it is a great show for all kids and Adults. You can't found to many shows that fits all ages anymore. Although there are a lot of commericals.

My 5 year old loves BINDI !!
My daughter watches this show everytime it comes on. She loves to watch Bindi interact with the animals, dance with the croc-men, and she laughs alot when Steve does silly things to Bindi!! My daughter just made 5, but has been watching Bindi since this show aired. Highly recommend this program, Bindi is amazing for parents to watch also because she is such an amazing little girl!

Great educational show that's fun for the whole family.
My kids were getting bored with watching their umpteenth episode repeats of "Zoboomafoo." So I checked out some other shows and found this was the best new alternative for both my kids. They love it!

Bindi is great!
This is my daughter's new favorite show. She's almost 5. Bindi balances fun facts and animal play with environmentalism and science. The cute song & dance numbers add variety. The Croc-Men are a little cheesy, though! My daughter and 8 year old son have learned lots about the featured animals and how scientists study them. Good stuff!

it is a horrible tv show. too babyish

Great!
After having watched Steve Irwin's show every chance I got, I was glad when Bindi stepped up and took on the job! I haven't personally seen the show, but I have read about it on other sites, and I have heard that it's a great opportunity for kids of all ages. Animals need to be protected in our world. And if you can, get your kid to watch this.

Still Talking About It
My daughter dreams of being a marine biologist. Bindi gives animal lovers and kids of all ages tons of information all presented with compassion and fun. You'll learn something, gain sympathy for nature's creatures, and enjoy time with your kids.

Good for kids, very fun
It is such an amazing show, and Bindi's reactions to things is just funny. Like when she has bugs all over her she has the (this is cool but its very disturbing!) look on her face. She has an amazing interest in animals and I was also a fan of her dad. She and her mum have a good sense of humar, the show is fun to watch and educational. Bindi's treehouse is cool too. Praise this awesome show!
