What parents need to know
Parents need to know that this reality show -- which follows singer and reality star Bret Michaels as he attempts to balance his career with his family life -- is much milder than his popular Rock of Love series. In this family-centered show, much of the focus is on his rocky relationship with girlfriend Kristi Gibson, and his goal to spend more time with his young daughters. The show contains some subtle references to sexual acts, and occasional nudity (bare breasts) is blurred. Words like “hell” are audible, while stronger language (sometimes uttered by Michaels’ young daughter) is bleeped. Some episodes contain some silly bathroom humor. The show also features lots of Bret Michaels' music, and includes scenes from his live appearances.
What's the story?
BRET MICHAELS: LIFE AS I KNOW IT is a reality series that follows singer Bret Michaels as he tries to find some balance in his life. The musician, who is known for his wild lifestyle, tries to spend more time at home with his young daughters, Rayne and Jorja. He also attempts to rebuild his relationship with his on-again-off-again girlfriend Kristi Gibson. But Michaels soon realizes that being a hands-on father and partner isn’t always easy, especially when he must go on tour to perform and fulfill the demands of being a rock star.
Is it any good?
The series, which began production before his well-publicized medical problems, is intended to demonstrate how Michaels is attempting to turn a new leaf after watching his personal life spin out of control thanks to the success of his Rock of Love reality dating franchise. To this end, much of the focus is on the singer's attempt to negotiate the time he spends between his demanding career and his family.

I have one problem with the review .
"There are conversations about medications (mainly insulin) as part of the treatment for diabetes"
That really isn't a bad thing. I mean it's educational in a way , to teens/young adults who really don't know anything about diabetes .
On a side note : the show paints Brett in a better light,not as a boyfriend or husband but as a father.
