CSI: Miami is the second instalment in the CSI franchise. It, like its predecessor, is a highly intelligent, entertaining crime drama. This show is worth watching if only for the scenery, however, it is enjoyable on more levels. The show follows a slightly different formula than the one presented in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation; Miami focuses less on the scientific aspects of crime solving, although forensics are still central to the show. The shows characters are less likeable and do not function in a unit in the same way the characters on the original do. This show has a much more serious edge and the characters reflect this. Horatio Caine (David Caruso), is the lead detective, he is intended to be Miami’s less scientific version of Gil Grissom, however, he falls short in many ways being generally less likeable and evoking fewer feelings of affection in the viewer. The rest of the cast is solid, but again, very serious, rarely cracking a smile let alone a joke. Many people dislike this show when they first see it, especially fans of the original, however, with repeated viewing the show grows on you. I recommend this show for those 15+.
I've watched every episode at least twice. In many of the episodes, the violence has already occurred or occurs within the first five minutes. The rest of the show is about the CSI team solving the crime. Insofar as actual violence goes, kids can see more violence on the evening news. There are also social issues that parents can discuss with their kids (such as suicide or stranger danger). I think TV-14 is overrated. Younger teens and some tweens should be able to handle most episodes, with parental guidance of course.
i am 14 and i have been watching CSI: Miami since i was 13. the first time i watched it i was realy freaked out by some of the things in it now i can watch it and i enjoy it and it doesnt scare me anymore. i reccomend kids no younger than mature 11 and 12 year olds.
Excellent! Awesome plot twist with the right amount of grueling crimes and interesting characters(:
I have loved this show since I was10! That is very young for someone to be watching but it is till an original and excellent show with awesome plot twist and perfect crimes! I highly recommend to teens who want a Plot twist(:
Fine for kids that know what blood is real and not.
Role models are good. The characters are smart and do positive things. Can be funny at times but thats not the main thing. I have seen episodes with people falling on to pointy things. I have been watching this since I was 7. Blood and gore has never really bugged me as a girl. The first one was the episode where a girl about 13 was hung by her feet and eaten alive by a croc. Not that bad. Didnt show many graphic pics. Did show her arm that was drained out of crocs stomach. Love it though!
The 'lesser cousin' of CSI for many reasons. They are hinting on viewers, but thankfully, CSI NY and Miami are in some ways, not as gruesome as Vegas (Original) Plus, For some reason, all of the bodies are typically found in daylight, in places besides dark closets and alleyways, so not as creepy. But for some reason, this show likes killing off its main and recurring characters.... Even more so than the other CSIs. Sometimes the Vics live, (not all in the episode, there is typically at least one fatality) but sometimes, they are brutally murdered. Sometimes (not as brutally) they are murdured in front of your eyes. Not for the squeamish, but otherwise a great show.
The problem with CSI miami is that the episodes extremely vary. Ranging from someone ripped into chunks and killed by sharks to someone just getting shot. I guess you should read about the episode before letting your kid watch it. There was an episode with a frag grenade that blew off someones foot and next to the body was the foot. There is a range of violence in this. People often get shot by the main character or he gets them to surrender. Its not really that violent in some. Some episodes 16+ some 12+
NO KIDS!!! Tough Teens and Young Adults. Adult slueths should have no problem.
This installment of the CSI chronicles definately includes more compelling mysteries and effects as my other review of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Yet, there is more drama and love between the investiagtors too.
My mom is my best friend and we watch this show together all the time I don't think I have missed a show. Sometimes I run home just to watch it. Well now my work schedule changed. Working with DISH the schedules do change just like any job. For me to miss watching CSI: Miami is not something I want. My mom has Xfinity and was going to get TV everywhere with it and allow me to view it but I know DISH has TV everywhere as well. I looked it all up and found out that with DISH you can view LIVE TV everywhere you go. With Xfinity you can only watch it inside the home. So of course I got TV everywhere with DISH and I'm happy I did. Now my mom and I can still talk about the show!
My little sister watches this-shes eight! we watch it with our mom/dad and its fine. THere are some episodes that talk about sex, but its usually used as a part of a crime like a rape . I think its actually good they use sexual crimes because it shows you that this terrible stuff does happen , and to stay safe. There is some swearing but not much more than your typical t.v. show. Its pretty intriguing and some episodes are TO DIE FOR !!!
LOVE IT. There isn't much blood, but lots of gunpoints. Isn't very psychological. Get tired of David Caruso's lines before commercial/theme song sometimes. But at others, they are epic! Oh, and cleavage shots on miami beaches and in the lab :)
