What is not to love with Curious George? He is always getting into something....but always comes out learning a lesson or skill. This is a great show for toddlers, because it is very simple and the stories are perfect for a small child. In between the two stories, it includes real kids learning about what Curious George just did. This is perfect because my kids love watching other kids, and it inspires them to be Curious about their world!
My 2 and 4 year-olds love this show. I do wish the animation were more like the original George series, however, the situations, themes, and messages are fantastic! Way to go PBS!
I love this show because, it's Educational teaching kids about Math & Science. Curious George is a Great Role Model for kids becasue, he promotes learning & curiosity. I watch this show. A Great Show for All Kids 2+. Everybody should watch Curious Geroge, Regardless of Age.
It really teaches. It's very good, but consumerism: it's based on a book series. But that's okay because when I am married and have my kid, I Will allow it on my island.
This is the only show that really gives you the world from a toddler's perspective. From George's inability to speak, to his struggle to understand things around him that everyone else takes for granted, he IS a toddler and this allows the show to extend great empathy to its misunderstood viewership. I'm puzzled by the review that regards it as consumerism that the show has its origin in books; I consider that a literacy tie-in. Consumerism is a shallow link between the character and a product they want us to buy (i.e. Dora on a sippy cup). No one is pushing Curious George books on us via the TV show, but it sure does help instill a love of reading when the same characters (Pooh, etc) show up in book form.
Brilliant, cute, and funny...perfect recipe for kids' show
My 3 year old son absolutely LOVES this show and has for a long time now. I have over 25 episodes recorded on my DVR so he can watch it at anytime of the day. It's very educational and my son has learned so much from watching. We've even tried to duplicate some of the "experiments" that are done by real live kids at the end of each segment. I give this show two very enthusiastic thumbs up!!
My 3 year old daughter... LOVES George, and it's one of the few things that will entrance her... I always say she channels him on a daily basis... very sweet stories...one or two episodes have had some scary elements that have upset my daughter, but overall it's a safe bet.
