Parents need to know that this show is intended for entertainment purposes only -- despite the potentially interesting and educational setting (an Incan empire), there's no learning about history or the culture of these people. The main character, Kuzco, is a self-absorbed teen. He lies and cheats in order to secure his high school diploma. He's also disrespectful to adults.
Positive messages:Main character is disrepectful to people of authority. He lies and cheats to get his way.
I don't think this is the best cartoon, but it was okay. It was a bit funny and was pretty entertaining. Although, Kuzco is rude, selfish, lazy, and disrespectful. He also seems obsessed with a girl in his school, often calling her a "hottie". Besides that, it was fine, but nothing worth cheering for.
I work with troubled youth ages 4 - 9 and they really enjoy this show because they are able to learn good messages from it. I like this show because the kids i work with can be very disrespectful and all about me me me at times and this show teaches them to be respectful and that not everything is about me me me. The kids will point out how rude kuzco is and that they would never treat people that way and i use it as a great discussion starter about there own manors and how they should treat people.
This show has no redeeming value whatsoever, it's commercial, unfunny, and ridiculous. There are much better things on tv on Saturday morning so I would give this a big negative.
It's alright, not nearly as good as the movie though. Kuzco has to go back to school because they don't think he's doing to well as an emperor. Along the way Kronk is at the school too (Not sure why because its revealed in the movie Kronk is older than Kuzco and Kuzco is like 18, although I'm glad they put in Kronk) Then there's Malina, she's a good role model for the most part, get good grades, respect everyone, do the right thing. She does have a temper when it comes to winning and if she looses an inch of perfection. Kuzco has a crush on Malina, and she trys to let him down easy, his usual greeting to her is "hotty-hot-hotty" I loved the show, but they made Kuzco more of a brat (if you can believe that) He lives with Patcha and his family, which is cool because he learns about family being important. The other thing that bothers me is the fact they made it more 'twenty-first-century" like what they did to Mudka's Meat Hut. It's a pretty cute show, but they didn't even bother finishing it, and some episodes weren't very good, but we all have our mistakes. It's just a shame they decided to totally give up on it.
It's boring, rarely funny, and conceited Kuzco only talks about Malina, the hottie-hot-hottie, and himself. I would'nt waste my time with this annoying show!
How terrible this show is, it really didn't look good but, I saw it, turned to Nick instead. REALLY, IT IS THE OPPOSITE OF THE MOVIE, TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!! However, I reccomend the movie, it is an awesome movie!!!! But, the show is a big, 10 minute blooper!
I was very irritated when I watched an episode of this show. I cannot believe that the male main character of this series refers to the female lead, as the "hottest hottie of all hottie-dom". This is yet another example of how our patriarchal society, portrays the objectification of woman throughout the media. What are we teaching young boys who view this show? That it is acceptable to refer to a woman as a "hottie", a title that is sexual in nature, referring to a woman's body, being "hot, sexy, desirable". It absolutely disgusts me that this has been incorporated in a Disney TV show. I believe it is a disservice to our sons, and DISRESPECTFUL to our daughters.
Kuzco is a selfish brat, but they kind of show good manners on the show-which is good.
It is a good show, although Kuzco is extremely selfish, and calls Melina a 'hotty-hot-hotty' all the time. But it isn't a really bad show actually, Kuzco may be rude sometimes but he has friends and a family to help correct his ways. Sometimes it is really random, but otherwise not bad. Ezma is still up to tricks, but she doesnt really try to kill him anymore, just move him out of the way. (She usually never sucseeds) What bothers me is that a while ago they were still abrotizing about new episodes of the show even though Disney Channel knew they put the show on at like 1am!
We were excited to hear about the new show, because we were big fans of the movie. Even my 16 year old thought this would be a great show. We gathered to watch, and were left wondering what happened. Plot is weak at best. Characters seem to be flat and uninteresting. Kronk gets a lot of air time, but isn't nearly as funny, Izma is supposed to have a significant role in the educational process, but her main contibution is to say "Wrong lever". We were let down, and don't even bother to watch now.
This show is something that even younger kids won't enjoy. In the Emperor's New School, Kuzko, from the original movie The Emperor's New Groove, is a bit more different from the film. He's so self-conceited, rude, selfish, and ugh!!!! So annoying! I mean, let's be real here! Do you want your child to turn out like Kuzco who thinks only about himself? The answer is probably no. This show doesn't teach any lessons and I don't recommend it to anyone; especially younger children who are SUPPOSED to be learning RIGHT FROM WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just horrible, don't waste your time.
