It shows kids and adults of all ages that just helping out one person can change lives and it makes you feel great when you do it because there are a lot of people out there that give to others before they give to themselves and even they need a help out of the hole that they got themselves in
Even though it's a bit commercial (Sears, ABC, Disney), the show helps people. It also makes for a family friendly show that opens up discussion about being a good citizen and helping those in need. It's a must-see on Sunday evenings.
Finally, a show where the whole idea is doing for others. Yes, a little sappy at times, and probably boring for most kids, but I feel touched every week. What an opportunity for our kids to see families different from themselves, and in need, and to see things made better by a group of people helping them out. Love this show and what it demonstrates.
In a world where reality shows consist of people eating snake eyes and marrying eachother for money, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is the reality show with a heart. It picks out families that are either poor, have handicapped children, or are otherwise unfortunate, and gives their homes lavish, wonderful makeovers. The makeover is done in one week. This a show that your whole family can watch together, and enjoy. Why ABC rates it TV-PG I'll never understand, cause this is a G show if there ever was one.
It wasn't until after I read Dana Reinhardt's "How to Build a House: A Novel", I hated Extreme Makeover. Once I started watching it though, you get sucked in, and you get after an episode that you need to do SOMETHING. Might be boring/awkward for younger viewers, because of all the crying.
Plus this show has Ty Pennington!
Fantastic.
My 4 yo and I watch each week and she loves watching the builders and seeing the final outcome. We talk about how they are helping a family build a new home because they really need it and can not do it themselves. I love it.
My daughter (6 years old) and I enjoy watching this show together. She can see that there are different and needy families in America. Every week this show touchs us and makes us thankful for what we have, especially when we think we have it bad and we really don't. They do go over the top with the new house and what's inside but so what the people deserve it! Great show!
The people you work in this show are extremely nice. I will most certainly let my children watch this. Maybe my kids will learn a thing or two from these adults. Nothing wrong with it.
A great show that sends good messages to its viewers. It can be a real tear jerker at times, but the selfless acts they do for families and how a whole community can come together is amazing. So far I have no complaints or anything bad to say about this show. People should definetly give it a try.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is awesome and a rarity in primetime! Some episodes are so sweet they make you want to cry. I love this show! I haven't seen an episode that contains inappropriate content and there probably won't be an episode like that. All of the families on this show are good role models who give back to their respective communities.
This is a really good show. There are great messages and role models. It's great to see veryeone come together to build a house for a deserving family. I've never seen anything inapprporiate on the show, and I've been watching it for years. However, there is A LOT of product placement, and it honestly gets kind of annoying.
Very good show. Great messages, great role models, no complaints.
Awesome show. It has such good messages. The whole show is about helping others for no pay. I honestly don't care what anyone else has told you, at least try this show. The main guy in the show is a very selfless, kind man, someone who kids should follow in footsteps. It's an enlightening show for the whole dang family.
