The Fairly OddParents (Nickelodeon)

I really wish I could put +2 and "positive messages", but the show has changed too much. I've watched this show for a long time, once even claiming it was my favorite, but now it's really changed. They still have the lessons at the end, but to get to the lesson you have to go through a bunch of bad stuff. In "Bad Heir Day" Timmy is babysitting baby fairy Poof and loses him. After risking his life searching for him, Wanda and Cosmo (his parents) find him before Timmy does. They get mad at Timmy and send him back to the Rabid Animal Zoo, a place he had gone to look for Poof, and Timmy was once again eaten by rabid alligators. If you buy the old "Season 1" and "Season 2" dvds though, the show was actually pretty good back then. But now it lost it's "magical" feeling and became more of an "action show". The characters talk really fast so things can happen all in one episode, but I have to watch the same episode three times to eventually understand what they're saying (not a problem, since Nickelodeon chooses to put reruns up anyway) I would say if you want your kid to watch this, first let them watch the old episodes than they can decide if it's worth their time watching the current seasons. The only reason i watch it anymore is to see how the characters are doing.

I think parents Are over reacting, yes it doesn't always have the best messages and a mean babysitter but at the end of every episode there always is a message that shows Timmy his selfish back-talking ways are wrong and teach him a lesson. it may not have as much moral values as a pbs kids program but its nothing that kids aren't already exposed to in school. i know many kids that are obsessed with wrestling shows which and whose parents buy them the action figures but i dont understand how we dont see any issues with that. Any words that are considered bad are mild words like "butt head" you'd be suprise what your 5 year olds say and learn in school.this show shows some moral values with the entertaining factor thats no worse than power rangers. please be open minded because your kids cant watch ni hao kai lan, or max and ruby forever they're getting older. while i do admit that it has gotten milder since poof came along well all the more reason for you le your kis watch it

"The Fairly OddParents" is a show started by Butch Hartman In 2006.It features Timmy, a lonely 10 year old who is granted Fairly OddParents that grant his every wish, but have to abide by a book of rules called Da' Rules.The show started off strong but became lackluster. It features potty humor, rare clever humor(Almost exclusive to the earlier seasons)and innuendo.Timmy tends to be very silly and irresponsible in his wishing but almost always is corrected by his OddParents,Wanda(The stereotypical female nag) and Cosmo(The stereotypical male dufus).Timmy as of late,however, has been becoming quite the little brat.I wouldn't think anyone under the age of 8 should be watching this.

Terrible role models, Wishology was NOT aproppriate for younger viewers, & I heard somewhere that once, Cosmo said a really bad word.

I think most people are just being ridiculous! This show was invented for kids! So the joke are sometimes downright stupid but it's comedy! Stupid pointless comedy! The violence is usually blurred out by "BAM" AND "ZAP". I think the small African is child is smart and a good role model! I think its nice how in the end Timmy learn from the poor choices he's made in his wishes

i recommend that this is for 4 years and up, it has positive messages about timmy having fairy godparents to show him respect to others as it gets, timmy has a huge crush on trixie in every episode, but tootie is the only annoying girl that has a crush on timmy so much, and timmy tries to run away from her, and there are several comic violence that get funny sometimes or not... i kinda like it sometimes, but newer episodes get weird to watch, and in one episode, cosmo gets pregnant and has a new baby name poof, its a crazy show to watch, but funny for a while.

This show is very strange and repetitive. Through the entire show, there will be a joke that the character constantly refers to. The main character, Timmy, is an awful role model who is ignorant, selfish, and mean to some children. When he makes a wish, it is often selfish, such as, I wish I had a special race car that only works for me.

Growing up, this was one of my most favorite shows. Timmy is your average kid, as the theme song says, but his life is suddenly turned around when a duo of fairy god parents steps into his life and grants him his every wish. Although quite stupid and pointless at times, most episodes involve Timmy making a wish and it spiraling out of control, which he then has to fix. At the end of each episode, he learns a valuable lesson, so this definitely has plenty of good messages. Timmy cares for his fairies, and they care for him. Some adults might find the portrayal of "stupid parents" offending, but kids should learn to ignore it. A few sexual jokes, but not much. I do think, though, that they kind of ruined it by making Cosmo having the baby. In a way, the show kind of went downhill after Poof. Overall, a very great show. I highly recommend it.
