The good stuff

  • Messages:

    Covers a broad range of behaviors and activities from a news perspective, including criminal activity.
 

What to watch out for

  • Violence:

    Depends on the episode. Some segments include video of car thieves driving recklessly (sometimes crashing) and even a deadly crash with a brief shot of part of a body (presumably dead). Also some fake fight scenes.

  • Sex:

    Discussion of sexy online content. Some scenes show scantily/revealingly dressed women.

  • Language:

    Occasional "hell" and "ass," as well as a few bleeped words.

  • Consumerism:

    Not an issue.

  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

    Some footage shows people smoking cigarettes and even using drugs like crack.

About i-Caught

Parents need to know that this newsmagazine series is based on user-generated Web content, in all its wide-ranging glory. Segments can include everything from footage of real robberies, drug use, and car crashes (presumably dead victim and all) to lighter, celebrity-based stories and silly dance videos. Expect some bleeped profanity and occasional images of revealingly dressed women.
