What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this sweet show centers on a child's worries about what will happen to her when her father remarries. It sensitively explores (at an age-appropriate level) a child's fears that her father will no longer take care of her or love her when he remarries. The show specifically balances the "wicked step-mother" tradition.

What's the story?

What's the story?

When Maya's father, Mr. Muscles (voiced by TV actor Erick Estrada) proposes to Mrs. Kersplatski, Maya worries he will no longer make her sandwiches, read her stories, and call her his little mouse. She confides her worries to her friends, who in turn ask their parents about stepmothers. Maya runs away and hides on the day of the wedding. But her father reassures her that she will always be his love.

Is it any good?

JOJO'S CIRCUS: A CIRCUS TOWN WEDDING treats the subject of family structure and step parents thoughtfully. Care is taken in the dialogue to correct the "wicked stepmother" image many fairy tales create. Family is defined as the people who love you. The stop-motion animation is as charming as the regular JoJo show.

Kathie Lee Gifford wrote the lyrics for the music, and Keanu Reeves' band plays the main title theme song. Veteran actress Jane Eastwood voices Mrs. Kersplatski, and 12-year-old Madeleine Martin is the voice of JoJo.

Come to this Circus!
I think its cute for kids to watch, and it may get kids to over come there fears of clowns! I like the colors too! In some ways it drives me crazy tho. But I'm 13, the show ain't designed for me, its for little kids! I think its adorable for kids.

MY DAUGHTERS FAVORITE CHARACTER
MY DAUGHTER DRESSED AS JO JO FOR HALLOWEEN AND I COULDN'T GET HER OUT OF THE COSTUME WITHOUT HER CRYING. SHE LOVES JOJO, WALKING AROUND THE HOUSE JUST SAYING JOJO. ITS VERY ENTERAINING FOR YOUNG CHILDREN.

A must see for any toddler!
We LOVE Jo Jo's Circus at our house. We didn't let our son watch TV until he was 2 yrs old and this is one of two shoes that he's allowed to watch. He can't get enough of Jo Jo. The music is great, there is always a catchy tune. And the messages are wonderful! And my favorite part is that Jo Jo gets the kids up and participating in what she is doing. My son has learned to "roll dough" and "crab walk" just by watching the show, no instruction from mom needed!
