the best anime wanna- be you'll ever see!
this series is funny, cool, and has heart warming moments. from the on-off relationship with mikey and mitsuki, to the love-hate relationship with mikey and lily, this show sometimes leaves in a cliff hanger, but usually just solves itself by the end of each 22 minute episode. my favorite episode is "the fugi-kid"

Mediocre at best...
The plots in this show are terrible, if they exist at all. The jokes aren't that funny and overall, the show looks like a mis-happed hodgepodge of bad cartooning from a tired director. This shames real anime. If you want to see anime, go watch the real thing, not this.

Should have been on Nick at Nite if on Nick at all
Although this show has little that would makes it inappropriate for kids, it would have had its most potential on Adult Swim or Comedy Central. After all, it was piloted for MTV. And this makes sense because its humor is very sitcomish and surrealistic at the same time and it has several references to popular anime series. But a lot of these references do not make sense to kids. Instead, this show is really aimed at the sort of tweens and teens who aren't old enough to watch the shows on Adult Swim but want to because of any remaining respect for animation. In that sense, it is of the same creative vein that produced Rocko's Modern Life, Regular Show, Aahh!! Real Monsters, Ren and Stimpy, Invader ZIM, Dragon Ball Z, Billy and Mandy, etc. etc. that were rather controversial for good reason and consequently appealed to the tween audience. But anyway, despite the fact that a more adult version would have been more enjoyable, this is still a really good show that people should find pretty funny.

One great show, cool twists.
What the critics say are true, this "anime" (Mikey is cartoon-styled, while the others have an anime look to them[the joke, lol]) could be the best! It teaches kids Japanese, and has lots of family-friendly jokes!

Dragonball Z without Dragonballs
Far from the best, the show earns its use of cartoon star Sean Schemmel of Dragonball Z fame.

Futurama for kids!
Mikey is Phillip J. Fry, Gonard is Bender, Lily is Leela, Guano is Zoidberg, Hermes is Yes Man, Ozu is Hubert Farnsworth in all, this is an awesome show!

You should get other things that work as highlights so that people can see how much we like it for its madness.
This is a show about an American TV actor in Japan, and probably one of the greatest examples of "Screwed By The Network" and "Too Good To Last". Yes, Guano in "LilyMu" mode is just like Pikachu. He's supposed to be like that on LilyMu because Guano is supposed a character like Pikachu BECAUSE HE WAS CAST FOR THAT. Lily throws tantrums because she's used to being the star all the time, and Gonard is pretty much a little kid, he doesn't know any better. The reason I put the Educational button on is because this show inspires kids to learn more about Japan, and to learn how to read the signs in the back round, they'll need to learn Kanji.

Well thought out comedy!
This show I got to say is up there with some of my favorite cartoons like Samurai Jack which was also coincidentially cancelled too. But I feel that Kappa Mikey would have done better in Cartoon Network than it did in Nick, being that the audiance may have been different and be more accepting towards that cartoon. It was a pioneering show on it's own being that I have never seen a show that mixed the two different styles of American and Japanese animation into one show. It was a funny show and many of it's episodes had me and the kids laughing. Of course it helped that it was partially stylized in anime to help the jokes go further, and the chosen cast of voice actors were perfect for the parts. It had the right mix up in humor, there were parts that I saw coming and others that threw me off which made it more hilarious. Only downside to this show though was the reception towards it. People who dislike anime were driven away from it. Anime "purists" thought of it as a disgrace towards anime and neither group really gave it a chance. Overall it is an enjoyable show not ment to be taken seriously. Like any other children's cartoon it is out there to make your day enjoyable after a long day of work or school.

Cute Show
It's a funny show, I really recomend it for kids.

Good for Otakus
This show is excelent in my opinion. Okay, the animation lacks sometimes, and it has some problems here and there, but it is still a good choice. The reason why I think so many people have misrated this, is because they hate Anime or haven't watched Anime at all. A lot of the jokes here lies in the Japanese text in signs (Which I noticed, since I know a bit of Japanese) and all those weird expressions... well, they are common in Anime. But they don't overdo the use, like they do in this one... Anyway, people who are "Otakus" or in English, 'Anime and Manga maniacs' will find this quite entertaining. It does often feature camoes of different people from Anime shows in Japan, like Chobits. So... The show will most likely be enjoyable for that type. Both Teens and Adults. It doesn't really have too much violence either, but can still be pretty crude for kids under 7, like the age rating states. So go on, fellow Otakus! Watch it!

WHAT KIND OF SHOW IS THIS!

0 values, 0 brains
I try to find some good in everything, but I'm afraid I just can't find any in this show. The plot is flat and the characters are flat, plus the animation is horrible. The difference in the appearance of the main character from that of the others is explained through the fact that he is an American cartoon and they are Japanese. It's a good concept, but the execution is poor. I would caution parents becuase of its brainlessness. Children can get absolutely nothing from this show, plus I didn't particularly like the idea of my daughter repeating the name of a central character - Gonard. For older kids and adults there is little worthwhile in terms of dynamic humor or interesting plot. I really can't recommend this show for anyone with an IQ above 3.

The Best Show Ever
This show rocked big time! Kappa Mikey is to Best American Anime as The Electric Company is to Best Educational Comedy. It's also fun to record Kappa Mikey episodes with my VCR (the show pops up on Nickelodeon while I'm away at church sadly). The animation feels different, the characters rocked, nice plots, a moral in EVERY episode, and a lot of humor. Much better than Avatar (not funny) and Ben 10 (throw it away, Cartoon Network and bring back the classics you used to air) garbage, those two shows are even worser than Barney, CatDog, and Teletubbies combined. Kappa Mikey is not pointless, it's fun to watch. Record Episodes on Nickelodeon or get Digital Cable/Satellite with the Nicktoons Network (and more) to watch it!!!

This show rocks!
This is an awsome show! I record every episode! I like the one called Reality Bites, the begening is so funny! Watch the part after they come out of the manhole, and it's very funny! And after that, fire comes out of Ozu's mouth as he yells at Yes Man. And I also like Uh Oh Guano. The funny stuff in that is Gonard trying to buy things in Japan with Butts. (Watch the episode to find out what Butts are) And when they are watching the USA version of Lilly Mu, Something even funnier happens!

What a goffy show!
Kappa Mikey will make kids laugh but will bore a adult to tears. That is probably why it got a off, and a 1 star rating by a adult. Some of the humor is really random but it can get funny.
