LOst is one of the best series I've ever watched! I hate that it will be ending. With that said- it can be very violent and sometimes a little too on the edge with the sex scenes. So use "common sense" if you have young ones- this show can be intense and probably over their heads anyway. Ages 13 and up will enjoy- sometimes you just may have to screen an episode if you are concerned with the sexual/violent content. The acting is top notched as well as the music, and storyline. COOOOOL show- if you're not LOST- I recommend buying all the previous seasons- and get ready for the finale- season 5 is coming up! No doubt- it will be excellent!

One of the best shows in TV history
LOST is an incredible show with a unique premise. You actually feel for most of the characters and care about them. Some episodes display uplifting messages which really make you want to be a good person. I recently got into the show and I've been hooked since. While LOST is a truly amazing show, it's not for younger kids. The two-hour pilot episode had very graphic imagery, bad language, and brief drug use. One episode in the first season suggested a semi-incestuous relationship between two half-siblings. Note that the graphic violence on this show is definitely not for easily-frightened children and young teens. For those new to LOST, I recommend starting from the very beginning as the final season premieres on ABC in early 2010. It's not a show where you can just start watching without catching up, like most shows on TV.

ALAS, we may know the mystery of Jacob
No, ABC, this is not exclusive to the "Lost" Jacob mystery 5/13 but, a hell of a good way to season finale' hound us to wait for the next, who RELIGIOUSLY watch this outstandingly written story series, J.J. Abrams and associats remove all doubt they incredibly know their biz, when other story writing sucks to the level of, why was a budget spent on mindless junk some productions. No doubt this will offend those writers/produces, GOOD! HUH, you say? Need Mr. R. Blake be quoted from the 80s warning us on then, Merv Griffin show, what some people think when they have a "pocket book" and conclude they know how to make entertainment. Funny, I hear how many our seniors in Madera County CA alone share, "we can't find anything on t.v." worth watching. "Lost" isn't one of their complaints so far if they know of it. Mr. Abrams, associates, cast and crew, we absolutely love this series, can't get enough, when most other shows don't EVEN come close. This P/T writer has addressed other shows and thank the gods most are doing better than might have happened. Lost, doesn't need any input to better. Keep us reeling for more, thanks

Great Show
Lost is a great show that is directed to older adenices. Many charrecters are killed of and the sex in the show had escalated. Not to mention the violence. This show is scary and you will get nightmare if you are not the horror movie kind of person.

One of the best dramas on TV
Lost in one of those shows that can suck you in with just one episode. The plot is intriguing, the characters are likable, and every audience member can enjoy trying to figure out the mysteries of the island. There's not very much offensive content in Lost. Violence is pushing the limit for a TV-14 rating. There's rarely any sex, but there have been a couple of scenes. Language, at its worst, is a few uses of "bitch" or "bastard". My family watches this show together every week, and I'd recommend it for kids 10+.

It's about time there's a show on T.V. that's so fantastic I can't wait for the next episode! I LOVE everything about this show! All the characters have me on the edge of my seat each week. This television show is up there with the "X-Files". Fabulous!

Thoughtfull but only for older children
I find that the story line deals with many mature habits and issues, while not glorifying eather the good ones or the bad ones. I supect that the aim of the show is to present the issues in a nutural every day situation, while making an intertating story, after all, would you watch a program based on your life?

Addicting but Violent
Exciting and gripping, but not for kids under 11 because of the violence that may scare them. Lost makes you question things and try to find out the answers to the past and about the island.

suspense and drama
Our family TiVo's this show each week so the kids who must be in bed by 8:30 get a chance to see what's happening on The Island... it builds each episode and we discuss what we believe to be the reasons for the crash and for this particular group of people to be stranded on The Island. The show evokes interesting conversations.

This site (not a parent reviewer) claims that Lost demonstrates sexual tension between half siblings. This is incorrect. The show suggests sexual/love between adult step siblings. The step sisters mother married the step brother's father when they were 16-18 years old. The father died soon after and there are no blood relations. Get your facts straight

Great, but not for young ones
I absolutely love this show. Well acted, good story lines, and you can't seem to keep from wondering what happens next. However, the drug use, frequent arugments, and occasionally bloody fights would keep me from allowing my 9 year old to watch it. For those with mature tweens, watching together with open discussion could be for interesting together time.

Best show ever. Teaches us things about ourselves while having all the action and adventure of movies, but times 100. There's some inappropriate scenes for anyone younger than 10 or 11, but hey, that's life on an Island for 108 days!

Ok... Just to start off, LOST is an incredibly captivating, intriguing show about an airplane that crashes on a mysterious island. A lot of the review focuses on the fact that it has quite a bit of intense gore. Through out the series it gradually dies down, but comes back up again. So, yes, there is violence, and a little bit of inappropriateness, however, what they failed to notice was the LARGE idea on faith, science, and symbolism. None of this is bad, but the understanding of it may be confusing. The fact that the island was occasionally idealized as "hell", and that John Locke, and Jack Shepard disagree on the fact of letting the island define your future. I just hit quite a few points, however, the main point is focused on questioning of faith, and when and when not to lean on the idea for support. The show is amazing, but may be a little much for younger viewers. Plus the story is VERY confusing. following it is like following a maze... good ol' fun...

This is my favorite show. I started watching from season 1 last year. I wouldnt recomend it for younger children at all. There are some episodes i would screen if i were a parent, but it is a great thriller that the whole family can enjoy

this litterally is my favorite show . it has everything that a good show needs. i started watching when i was 10 so i think that it is age appropiate for that age. the part of it about drugs in the show is only in the first season mostly , and it is a good message. i know it sounds weird but it is true . its bout a rock star who c rashes with them, but he is addicted...however he meets a nice girl a good freind and a old faithful guy who helps him quit. its not supporting drugs its against it, and it doesnt show anything about it. the violence is only major in a few episodes buyt it is not with alot of blood.the only sex related part in the whole series that i thought was bad was in 1 episode in the 3rd season, and even that does not show much...its mainly focused on how jack ( a main charactor) reacts to watching it on a surrvailence camera. so watch the show with your kids to, nothing is too bad. i mainly covered everything..but why i said over 10 is because the show is confusing and kids should be old anough to follow the story otherwise they wont like the show.

Amazing television show. the only thing would be violence in some episodes and not often sexual scenes.Except for kissing which is in many episodes. The violence in the episodes has fist fighting with blood and some gun fights. In the last episode ( season 5) there is more violence than in other episodes and that kind of violence in other ending season episodes. the only thing that i think is a little stupid is the time travel parts of the series and there is a drug recovery from one of the characters

The best show EVER!
I love this show! Everbody says that it is very vonfusing, but I still love it^_^ I have bee watching this show ever since the first episode(I was nine) and I got hooked right away!I was a pretty mature nine year old, so if your child isn't very mature or has the average maturity of a nine year, they probably shouldnt b watching it.but it is still awesome!

Finding Lost: One of the best shows on T.V.
When we were recommended Lost by a nother family we diceded to catch up with it by renting the DVDs from the prevouis seasons. By the time we did catch up to where it was on T.V. we had become addicted to it and from then on we watched it every Wedensday. Even though there is some violance and sexualty it is a fun show to predict and keep track. Feom Hurlry's numbers to little Aaron, Lost is impossible to stop watching after you've watched it once.

lost is great
this show has some cussing (b*tch, h*ll, d*mn, a**. mostly from saywer.) and violence that includes some shootings and graphic images of wounds (both of which are usually bloody or gory.) and some sexual situations are present. jack and sawyer drink beer and jack has drug problems. before charlie died he was a druggie rockstar. i think this show is for a mature 11 or 12.

One of the Best on TV Right Now
"Lost" is truly a show that redefined what watching TV means. It feels like one VERY long movie rather than a show with contained storylines. It has interesting characters, awesome sets, great acting, and mysteries I garuntee you WILL NOT be able to figure out until the writers decide to reveal them.

A great series...
I enjoy LOST a lot. The plots are very interesting and detailed. I'm sure in most of our lifetimes we have wondered what would happen if our plane would crash, sending us on to a seemingly deserted island with barely anything to survive with. The added thriller in this series is the "black smoke" and the "others" on the island. Each episode gets more and more intense. I like how the characters have flash backs of their lives before the plane crash. This adds to the plot value and lets the audience have some background on the lives of the main characters in the TV show. LOST is a great watch for adults and teens alike.

Where do I start?
After hearing multiple amazing reviews from this show, I couldn't help but start to watch it. Even my 11 year old brother is completely addicted to Lost. The show is violent at points but nothing too bad. It is intriguing, compelling, and totally suspenseful. Once you start watching, you will never stop. Kate, Jack and Sawyer...the others...the hatch...everything! I think any kid 11 and older would love this show.

I am so addicted to Lost!!! I wasn't allowed to watch it when it first came out (with good reason) since I was like 11 or so at the time, but by the time I was 12 I was watching every episode. It is mysterious, sad, uplifting, romantic, and somewhat scary although I think the show has lost most of it's fear factor since the first episodes. there is a lot of bad stuff in it, not so much innappropriate to be watching, but just in the sense that the morals they teach on the show can be very messed up. for instance, about 1 out of every 2 people on the show is a murderer. That's not to say that there has never been innappropriate stuff on the show though. there is plenty of violence including a couple episodes incluing torture, drugs, and sex, including sexual tension between two of the leads, Kate and sawyer. I think one of the worst things is the drug use. however, they do not glority it at all, instead making the harsh reality of drug addicts known. One of the reasons I'm so addicted is because I always am waiting to find out who Kate is gonna pick, Jack or Sawyer. There is so much chemistry and passion btween the leads and it's very addicting. I Dont think the third season was as good though. Must see 13+

Excellent, addictive, intriguing...
Lost is one one of the greatest shows to ever come out on TV or anywhere. It's intriguing, never boring, interesting, mysterious, and more. You will be fascinated by the awesome character studies, the insane mysteries, and hooks that keep you wanting more. An excellent series, one of the best. If you ask me, it's better to watch on DVD. For fairly mature teenagers. There is drug content, a bit of language and sex, and a lot of violence occaisionally. It's an excellent series for teens and adults. Watch it.
