Parents need to know that this series carries on the tradition begun in the beloved books it's based on. Wild teacher Miss Frizzle takes her students on adventures of every kind, teaching them (and viewers) about science as they go. At times the lessons may be a bit hard to follow, but there's plenty of learning and fun to be had.
Educational value:The show -- which is based on a series of fun and educational books -- encourages learning about all aspects of science.
Positive messages:The show strongly promotes curiosity, experimentation, and learning about science.
Positive role models:Miss Frizzle, though unconventional, is an intrepid heroine, dedicated to teaching and learning. Her kids are a great bunch, too.
My five-year old son loves this show. And his two-year old sister will watch it with him without complaint. He finds it interesting, is thrilled when it comes on TV, and he's always telling me about things he learned on the show.
This show is good for educating little children. Many shows are violent but this cartoon explains how things work and has many science topics for kids under the age of 10. It is a basic show with some humor and is safe for younger children to watch. I give it an A+!
This series is better for the older crowd because it talks about subjects meant for 3rd-5th graders. It talks about the human body and electricity. There are also a few social studies episodes too!
It amazes me how many science stories she tells us after watching Magic School Bus. I don't know how to break it to her that real school isn't quite going to be like Ms. Frizzle's classroom!
I remember watching this show all the time when I was a kid. It was the best on PBS!!! It kicked Athur's butt. Only Wishbone parralled in greatness. I can still remember some of the stuff it taught me as a kid. I'd even watch it today!
This show brings back so many memories! I love it! It is very educational because it teaches you about science and stuff! Kids 5 and up are A-OK! Make this a must see for your kids (if you are a parent). Although the animation might be outdated (the show was made in the 90's).
This is a great show on discovory kids. This show is a show on dk that looks like it's rated TV-G. It's so kidish but they teach all age science. This show is rated right, unlike the other TV-G shows on dk. The other shows with the rating TV-G look TV-Y. The other shows like hi-5 and stuff are a bunch of crap. I mean come on. Im 13 years old, and there is no way all ages are going to watch those other TV-G shows on dk.
