As a kid who can't get enough of my crime dramas, this one is definitely on the better side.
there is PLENTY of explosions, fire fights, but not much blood. In comparison to it's successor, NCIS, there is no autopsy and few dead bodies.
There is banter, teasing, but not many sexual innuendos. If your a fan of car chases with cool vehicles, it has plenty.
It's exciting, and with a strong female as a lead characters, it also has a bit of girl power included.
Positive messages include justice and the fight for truth. Overall, good show for your tweens and up.
my parents sometimes skip the beginning, say its too violent and bloody, so that's something parents can do. and the violence isn't too big an issue, considering that most of my friends are very violent. so by now, it's pretty much too late to stop tweens and teens from seeing violence. the show is excellent, other than the occasional language.
If this was a movie, it would defiently be rated a PG-13. It's not appropriate for younger kids, but teens will enjoy the action and beautiful locale, as well as the high-tech crime solving gadgets and character friendships (NOTE: they don't all sleep with each other!). Another great point is the lack of sexual content and excessive bad launguage.
