Parents need to know that this wedding-centric reality show plays into the bride-as-princess/"perfect day" wedding fantasy that the media frequently perpetuates. And, when it boils down to it, it's about buying a very expensive dress that will only be worn once. That said, at least some of the brides are flexible and accommodating, and the salon employees are kind. Still, while brides-to-be may enjoy this series, it's a sleeper for just about anyone else.
Positive messages:While the show supports the idea of the wedding as "the perfect day" (and the bride as the princess), it doesn't buy into the idea of the bridezilla. In one episode, the employees are told to encourage the brides to go after what they want -- but it's in response to a lot of relatives imposing their preferences. Budgets are frequently mentioned, although what the brides are actually spending isn't.
Positive role models:The salon employees are very kind and accomodating., and at least some of the brides seem willing to consider others' opinions along with their own.
