the show is actually pretty bad in gerneral. sure its funny but there is alot of crude humor and nasty jokes. i watch it but i dont know if it would be appropriate for others

I adore this show. As it's been said, Shin is mischievous in ways similar to Bart Simpson, but he never means it in a malicious way. Shin is simply a silly little boy.
To me it's not Shin's exhibitionism that makes this show 13+, it's that when the writers re-write the script for Cartoon Network's [adult swim] programming, they modify the dialogue or story to be more dirty than it actually was in Japanese, which is part of what makes it so funny in my opinion.

Kids being kids
A lot of the young characters in this show seem to go about thing with a bit of older then should be and child like innocence of just over hearing the adults, that bring this comedy to a realistic start. shins exposing of him self is the only thing i see to be the bit controversial, but it is true to life, as i remember baby sitting my cousins son at 5 he pop-ed his pasts right off and peed on a near by tree.(much to my dismay).

a Family Guy/ Simpsons kind of show
It's a very funny show, but I don't recommend this for kids under 12 . Though it depends on what the parents let their children watch. If you let your kids watch shows like Family Guy, South Park, ect. Then this won't be too much of a big deal. Bad language is used a lot in the series. You can talk to your children about how some words are not appropriate, and the characters just use them to make the show funny.

This is funny
Crayon shin chan is a show about a 5 year old who acts like a teen in ways by talking about mature things. episodes are light on plot and you wont get the humor if your under 11. I havent watched it in a while but its mild.

In my opinion, this show is ingenius. However, it's not for little kids. the main character, Shin, likes to pull down his pants down and wiggle his butt around. occasionally his privates will show, but mabe mistaken sometimes for his bellybutton. His behavior is the reason this show is not for kids. otherwise, it would be suitable for ages 9+.

Highly inappropriate, but can be pretty funny!
I watched this show when I was maybe 12 when it was still on Adult Swim, and I thought it was really funny. However, it was quite inappropriate!! Almost like Family Guy, anime-style, to tell you the truth. So it would probably not be a good viewing choice for kids in, say, elementary school, but a mature middle schooler or older may enjoy it.

great anime,I must say.It's funny unlike most anime shows.Most of the sex jokes will go right over your kids head.(I got them though and they were HILARIOUS)In my openion, it's an "If ya can't take the heat,get outta the kitchen" show.

Crayon Shin Chan, actually....
I know that little toddlers in Korea and Japan watch this show a lot. I don't get why, since it's pretty inappropriate. Anyways, just wait until your kid is about 13; if they seem to pick things up from what they see on TV, then it's best not to let them watch it.

I love this show! XD Strict parents who can't handle a little sex humor will not like this show. They take dirty things, and disguise it as an innuendo. (A whole episode about a child molester who wants to show shin his, one eyed monster) Also, the mom continually makes jokes about shin getting high, or buying mariwana. Also, sometimes, "ARE YOU ON CRACK?!" comes up. Shin shows of his penis and butt a lot even though, his penis is very cartoonish. Shin disresspects his mother alot too.This show is for tweens who don't use tv shows as their role models.

This Series is a piece of work, but its good
So Shin-Chan is basically about a potty mouthed butt flashing inappropriate five year old boy named Shin and his family living "together". No real plot, but it is really funny. There is a lot sexually charged jokes and some foul language, but if you know not to say things then it will probably be okay to watch. Lots of the reviewers on here are pretty young and just underrate things to no extent, so you should know that lots of the ratings aren't age appropriate.
