This show is possibly the strangest show currently on the air. It can be creepy, surreal, crazy...Tim and Eric must be seen to be believed. It's an alright show. if you're into off-the-wall humor, you should check this one out.
"because women and non-Caucasians are rarely seen.". I read this and I interpret it as "I've never really watched this show other than twice when it was on." I'd say that "rarely" is a bit much, since there isn't one episode, at all, without either, if not both. I see more variety in gender and race in T&E than in Cereal commercials..
This show is amazing! Though it is extremely odd and weird, it is the one show that is like this that doesn't repulse you! It makes you want more! It is a addicting, random funny show that is just superb Adult Swim comedy! Though it does have uncensored words like a--hole and g--ammit, and some rare sexual content like discussion of body parts and sex, it is really a fun, awesome, (hence the name) show for pre-teens and up!
Tim and Eric are a very witty comedy duo, and at first I didn't really care for this show, now I really enjoy it a lot.
There are some sketches children (not tweens) could find disturbing--for example, the Beaver Boys sketches.
Otherwise, this show is funny, even though a lot of people don't get it.
The TV-14 episodes (older) tend to be more appropriate for tweens than the TV-MA episodes (which are the newer episodes)
Honestly if you have your kids up at 1:30am your already not the greatest parent(s)but, if you appreciate that absurdity that is american television you will love the pokes and prodes Tim and Eric poke at just about everything. The greatest part is their satires are as convincing as the real things, their fake QVC ads and all the CINCO commercials are histerical. The best is they do all their own music "TOTALLY AWESOME VACATION" is one of the best songs ever just because it's 1988 vintage and they nail it. If you tape it however and watch it with your children under 14 some might find it really funny but it shoots over most of their heads, but some kids are more mature than others so i wouldn't say it's inappropriate but if your a controlling christian psychopath then definately not for your family. If your open to laugh at the world and your kids have a higher IQ than former president bush then you might enjoy it tremendously, it's become my favorite show.
Tim and Eric is not appropriate for anyone under age 16. Although some of its awkwardness can be funny, even I, as an adult, am creeped out by much of its content. That seems to be a main focus of the show: awkward, creepy visuals, language, and stories.
P.S.: The reviewer has probably not watched many episodes of the show, because there are people of color and women in the cast.
This show Is down right genius. If you are a photography/Videography major in college, or have any knowledge of film at all, this show is completely in every way hilarious. But even if you do not possess this knowledge it is still slap stick off the wall comedy that should be appreciated by anyone who is willing to have an open mind for comedy, rather than just dismissing it because you don't understand it the first time you watch. I'd say if I did have kids, I'd probably let them from age 9+ watch this show, If they liked it.
You gotta be smart and not close minded to get this show.
I let my kid watch it all the time, (he likes the colors and occasional music), my nephews watch it daily because they actually like the ridiculousness. Personally, I've always been a fan of Mr.show and Tom Goes to The Mayor because of their sense of humor. Yeah, I smoke MJ, and i think the show is less funny while under that yummy substance. So I guess this show is great for any age (as long as your kids aren't dumb enough to get the wrong idea about what they're saying/ doing, e.g. grand theft auto)
Tim and Eric Awesome show can have some really funny skits at times, however- most of the stuff featured on the show is definitely NOT for anyone under the age of 18. Loads of sexual innuendos and suggestive sexual movements. Fake blood, gore and violence and sexual preferences that some may find very offensive. Let's put it this way- for every skit that is actually funny (random stupidity to put it mildly) there are 5 skits that are offensive or just plain STUPID. Parents should definitely BEWARE.
I think this show is so stupid it's funny. It doesn't have a whole lot of bad content like shows have these days. I'd probably say it has the same content as Saturday Night Live has or Mad TV. I'd probably say for 13+
