I really enjoy it and wonder if I should let my 14 and a half year old daughter watch it. Let me tell you she is very mature and has heard swearing at school, violence doesn't bother her and knows about the birds and bees. Adults only, not for the timid
The first couple of episodes may not catch your attention, but after that the show is really fun, that is, if you aren't put off by the almost constant sex & nudity. There is a lot of imagination that went into this show, and although it has its campy moments, it is a fun escape for adults!

Absolutely hate the show. I bought the season one serious because I needed to fill my twilight void. This show is NOTHING like the wonderful romance books in the Twilight Saga. All the women in the show are portrayed as dumb, sex objects. The acting is terrible. The so-called souther drawl they have is nothing like lousiana--i ought to know, I'm from Louisiana. The vampires are just plain evil and satanic rapists. I was totally turned off by this show and I'm getting a refund!

I suggest that before you say yes or no to your children watching this show, a parent needs to see it first, and evaluate how it fits in with your child/ren and their understanding of the world. While my children are able to watch it, I wouldn't necessarily allow other children to watch it. I use the sex, violence, vampires, shape shifters, drug and alcohol usage, and most other potentially problematic issues as teaching moments and conversation starters. If you like Charlaine Harris' southern vampire stories, then this is for you, as it is based on that particular book series.

Addicting
This show is great. Its a bit cheesy, but that doesn't stop it from being totally addicting. Full of nudity and violence -- but that's pretty much what you'd expect in a vampire-romance targeted at adults. I appreciate the "vampire rights" plot, and I like that there are gay characters. I love the intro...

True Blood is Amazing!
I am addicted to this show. It just keeps getting better. Not for kids---tons of nudity--Jason the brother's role is to be naked and have sex---and he is HOT! Great plots, sexy, but definitely not for kids!

I'm 16 but I was given permission to watch Trueblood. The swearing, drugs, and alcohol is nothing worse than what any normal teen experiances at school, and there are just as many "bad guys". True Blood is edgy, and pushes the limits but thats why it is so lucrative to my age group. Older teens scorn Twilight in favor of a show that is a little more realistic. Teens who watch should know that it is graphic, and characters are not exactly role models, but it deals with complex issues and emotions and is amazingly entertaining.

I love True Blood, it is very true that there is a lot of sex and violence. But the characters are great. I watched the first episode and there was a lot of sex in it, but I made myself watch the second one hoping it would be better and now I'm hooked.

It sure is a good series for adults but not recommended for 14 and under unless they know the birds and the bees and stuff. Depends on how well they will be able to handle heavy violence, sex, many drug references and excessive swearing. Parents, If you love some dirty vampire series or the Sookie Stackhouse books, this is for you. Keep a big eye out on your kids if they too want to watch it.

I think that it is a great show! I am 14 and I love it! I know that it may not be appropriate for me, but I am kinda obsessed with the show.... But there is a whole lotta sex in it.......

Some teenagers may wish to watch this but it is absolutely NOT appropriate for anyone under 14. It's a very good programme overall but would be a lot more watchable with less sex in it.

Definitely not for kids, but for teens its OK. It's a good show, a lot of sexual situations but not too many that are extremely graphic. Violence is predictable, so you know when to close your eyes.

AMAZING!
This show is the best show on TV. There is lots of gore and language, but is to be expected in a vampire show. I love anything vampires and recommend this show for 16+. If you love this show, read the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.
