Parents need to know that this Jackass-esque reality show is full of crude sexual humor, dangerous stunts, and cursing. In each episode, the three stars/hosts ham it up in a fraternity-like atmosphere; they watch footage of extreme sports from across the globe, mock them mercilessly (giving the show a real mean streak) and then try to re-enact the stranger exploits at home. While it's somewhat interesting to see how other cultures blow off steam, the re-enactments serve as a way for the guys to make fun of others, rather than an attempt to actually understand their traditions. Kids may need to be reminded that, unlike the show's hosts, they should not be recreating stunts they see on TV at home.
Positive messages:The immature hosts gleefully do dangerous things, and make non-stop fun of other cultures' practices. They're condescending and juvenile and, in their effort to make each other laugh, they often make jokes based on broad, crude sterotypes.
Violence:Some of the re-enactments result in cuts, scrapes, and bruises (one battered butt is shown repeatedly). Some stunts involve battles/fighting, including a tomato-hurling challenge. The guys do wear safety gear when it's relevant.
Sex:Sexual innuendo (mostly in the form of crude, sexist jokes) and nudity (with sensitive bits blurred/blocked), typically within the context of one of the re-enacted stunts. The guys consult a porn star in at least one segment. Other segments include bikini-clad women wrestling in a vat of cream and boucing up and down on sumo-suited wrestlers. The men make a lot of comments about "boobies" and, in general, objectify women.
Language:"F--k" is bleeped, but plenty of others -- including "p---y," "dumbass" and "s--t" -- aren't.
