About MathPlayground

Parents need to know that this site is true to its name; it's jam-packed with math problems disguised as fun games. Created by a math teacher and educational consultant, there's nothing fluffy on the site. Games that require specific and complex skills, tutorial videos (made by students), logic puzzles, beginning programming, and an amazing supply of word problems are all here. This site requires the latest Flash Player and Java software; functionality will be missing if you don't have these. Google ads are on every page, though aren't distracting.

  • Families can talk about the Google ads. Browse through some of them to show how they're sprinkled with words that are related to content on each page to entice the user to click on them. Help kids to recognize the underlining for an outside link (also point out how the ad's and site's font style are often similar to blend in).

    I rate this title on for age 8 and give it 4.0

    Looks good, but for 8+, not 6 year olds.

    This site looks great, but its not for a six year old the way the review states. My 1st grader is smart, but the simplest games here are definitely out of her range.

    Not sure why this says 6 and up?

    N My second grader is good at math and I found this website above his skill level. Maybe I was missing the easier games. I would recommend for 4th grade an up?
