Where Ten Year Olds Can Browse Freely.
This is by far one of the safest sites on the internet. Why this website gave it the same rating as SOUTH PARK I'll never know. Through hundreds and hundreds of toons, barely a swear, and everything free with NO ADs! This is the only website I'd be okay with my ten year old going to unsupervised.

I Love This Guy!!!.
Ages 15+? Common Sense Media always overrate stuff at times. Homestar Runner is a great site for flash fun!!! Fun cartoons and just as fun games, I'd say any kid ages 6/7+ could get on. Happy Tree Friends is 100x worse than Homestar Runner, Amy Winfrey, and Bulbo combined. I'd suggest Amy Winfrey to the slightly younger crowd if you're scared of Homestar.

A fun site to share
I really enjoy this site and occasionally share it with my son, although he doesn't watch it alone. I definitely recommend staying away from the teen girl squad videos with younger kids.

stealing in cartoon
The story line was lame and stealing was advocated as "sticking it to the man".

Possible Drug Innuendo Warning!!!!!!
I would first like to say that both of my kids(9 & 11)really like HSR. For the most part we think (thought) it was harmless in small doses. This evening I couldn't help but over hear something on HSR. The clip is "Rap Song". One of the characters' name is "Peace-C-P" and it's repeated over and over "PCP" "PCP" "PCP" along with being emblozened on his shirt. Just in case I'm the only parent out there that didn't walk the straight and narrow in my youth, PCP is the street name for an illegal drug,a horse tranquilizer, commonly used to lace pot. I can't help but to think that the name of the character "PEACE-C-P" isn't a coincedence. Until I'm convinced that the creater(S) of HSR aren't acting irresponsibley-it'll be off limits to our kids. If I've got it wrong, please let me know.

I have laughed so hard my sides hurt!
Yes, there is some bathroom humor. My son has been addicted to this site for 3 or 4 years now, and he's 18! Some of the stuff is just priceless. I don't know how the creators even think it up. I have spent quite a bit of time at the site but haven't reviewed it all.

H*R is great!
pause 15+? It must have been April 1 when that review was written. This site is certainly more kid friendly than Looney Toons, with Bugs Bunny getting shot at by a cwazy hunter. Admit it, all you adults watched old cartoons like that when you were a wee little child. Give Homestar a chance, doc!

Good for them
The few areas of HomestarRunner* that are "iffy" are actually good for kids to explore. Coach Z got drunk once and left a rambling embarrasing message on Marzipan's answering maching once (and swiftly apologized), that's the worst of any substance abuse on the site. It tells kids it's unwise. The only violence is cartoonish and mild in comparison to mainstream juvenile entertainment. The naughtiest word on the site is "crap". Strong Bad's inane attempts to get more than he's due are the closest we see to a "criminal element". Yet, despite all these limitations, it actually is hilarious. Who'd have thunk it, that an Internet cartoon could be clean and funny? The worst examples of behavior on this website are presented in a way which is more cautionary than celebratory, and children from 8 to 80 and beyond will smile at the antics of the characters. It's a load of fun and does no harm.

A Great Source of Entertainment, but That's All
Homestarrunner* is a great website and a source of entertainment, but that's it. These cartoons are hardly influential role models. It actually sends a good message: in a series of cartoons, "Teen Girl Squad", they make fun of superficiality in some teenaged girls, and point out the idiocy of it all. The creators have taken undesirable traits, placed them in certain characters, and expanded them and exaggerated them to such lengths that it is both funny and shows one that these are indeed undesirable.

Most funny site on the web
Homestarrunner* at a glance may seem dumb, but the more you view it the more you realize it is genuinely funny. There are no real problems, unless you find "lady"ing and the use of crap offending. From time to time, there are a few problems, such as the consumption of "'old ones", (AKA some sort of beverage, possibly alcoholic). All in all, if you watch it with them, any kid 9 or older can watch the toons on this site. Just be sure to talk about it afterwards, such as how making fun of people in real life isn't funny. If they are teens however, they should probably be okay without you watching it with them. But that does not mean you shouldn't, for it is pretty funny, and even elderly people may enjoy it.

Oh come on...
Sexual Content: None to speak of. Violence: Nothing you won't see on Disney Channel. Language: I've heard the term "Crap" but it doesn't seem to ring as innapropiate to any kid thats been through the 3rd grade. Social Behavior: Did you hear about that robbery at the mall? I bet the robber must have been a fan of Homestarrunner*. Drugs: References to "Cold Ones." This is much more vague than the speeches children get about drugs at schools. Everyone, quick, let's stop children from learning about drugs at school. Conclusion: This website got an iffy 15+ rating. That's more than what the R-Rated movie "The Matrix" got. This is more kid appropriate than just about ever cartoon show on TV.
